I think the guy doing the inspection must make commissions on the repairs he sells. Of course, I refused and made my thoughts vocal to the desk guy.

I usually use Sumter Tire. Big mistake not having them shipped the tires there. I would have been in and out in less than an hour. That’s what I get for trying to save a few dollars.
I prefer buying tires from shop doing repair work. They have a bigger interest in keeping you as a customer.

I have used Quality Tire, a block from 441/27 on 466, for 20 years. Friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and honest. Open Monday - Thursday from 8 - 4:30. At first glance the place looks to be an old Florida cracker owned property that you want nothing to do with. Give it a shot - you will be pleasantly surprised.

Any opinions on Pep Boys? Purchased 4 new tires from a local warehouse club and they scratched one of the wheels. Honestly, I do not have any confidence on any local shop here.

Years ago I had a 300 Chrysler in for an oil change before going on a trip. When leaving my home this morning my wife noticed a good amount of oil was on the garage floor, she called me immediately & told me so I cut the engine noticed a oil trail behind me & the dip stick registered “0” Had to have the car towed to a shop & found out Tire Choice never tightened the filter or oil pan nut. 300 Chrysler engine could have been a disaster if this wasn’t handled properly. When complained to Tire Choice all I got was a shoulder shrug ..

I passed by Tire Choice yesterday. It looked "packed", like a mad house where they were giving something away for free. Why do people keep going there?

Default Game On

I guess it is game on for Tire Choice bashing. Typical for this site. I have had several positive experiences with them. One is I discovered a low tire pressure light which turned out to be a nail just before heading to MCO for a flight. TC quickly repaired the tire and sent me on my way to catch our flight. Another is I was unable to change a brake light in my SUV so I took my new bulb and went to them and they quickly installed it for no charge (I did tip the mechanic). Another is I needed new tires (my choice) and they matched the Sam's Club price.

I had a situation last year where I wanted my tires rotated. I told the person at the register that my tires were fine and still had enough tread, that I was going to change them next year. After about 30 minutes in the waiting room, the tech comes out to show me that my tires were worn out and didn't meet safety standards. On closer examination I discovered they had put someone elses worn out old tires on my car! I was fortunate that I spotted my tires in the corner of the shop and made them put them back on my car. Needless to say I drove away without balanced tires since they took off the balancing weights. The manager didn't know what to say.

I've heard stories where customers marked their tires to make sure they were rotated only to find out they weren't.

Stay away from franchised shops...They are almost always a den of thieves.
Wildwood tire is good as well but they are always busy.

This sham shop should be investigated and prosecuted. I’d love to go there and have someone video all their crap with a hidden camera. Bring it to the atty general.

Read the thread and do you really think tire choice is a reputable dealer?

I bought golf cart tires at Tire Choice. They had a good price, gave me an appointment, and installed them quickly and without any drama. They also didn't over torque the lug nuts.
