Default Universal Property - good, bad, indifferent?

I have received a reasonably-priced home insurance quote from Universal Property.

What is your experience of this company?

Thank you

OP, if you have a financial advisor, ask them to investigate the company, he should have access to tools that you and I cannot get to. This will tell you the financial stability of the insurance company and their ability to withstand a large scale event (hurricane), Here you will probably get some comments with regard to payments, how quickly people were paid, etd.

You might want to get a quote from Triple A also....we found their coverage to be exactly what we had, we bundled the home policy with our auto and reduced our total insurance cost by over a third

We once had Universal Property years ago. It was the only company that would write insurance in our area because the location was hurricane-prone. We never had a claim so can't say how good the policy was but the fact that they were willing to cover properties when no one else would says something about their risk tolerance.

Thank you, Bay Kid. Per their website they only seem to cover high-end properties. Our lowly den would not be of interest to them.

Thank you, davem

I went to their website, had to enter my zip code on three separate pages then, having filled in all of the details to get a quote, their website crashed. I have no intention of wasting another twenty minutes of my life on them.

Sorry. They were fantastic when my daughters property was hit by a tornado last month.
