Villagers / Warning ⚠️:
Something you may want to note before opening your door to strangers: * Please be “Fully Aware” that there are many “Storm-Chasers” (Non-Villages roofers) that have come into The Villages to solicit you post Hurricane 🌀 Helene/Milton to sign your rights over to them to manage your personal roof claim for your personal property. There have been regulatory changes in FL that don’t allow AOB’s (Assignment of Benefits), but these chasers will do all they can to squeeze your insurance cap for all they can get. Please DON’T fall prey to these solicitors. Use reliable, local, and honest roofers here in The Villages who don’t practice these dishonest solicitations. * Please also see below for 2024 FL FEMA details so that all Villagers are fully aware if there are specific needs that need to be met during a FL hurricane loss. You can review information below to see what might apply to you personally, or please share with friends and family: www.DisasterAssistance.gov FEMA will provide $1200 if you are/ have been without power for 24 hours 1-800-621-3362 Please see the URL link below: The website for FEMA assistance is available at www.disasterassistance.gov If the power remains out and you lose all of your food, file a FEMA Claim for $750. *Note: You must say or use these exact words: "I HAVE A SERIOUS FOOD NEED" - 800-621-3362 for the FEMA FOOD ALLOWANCE. Please provide this information to friends, neighbors, and Villages families. We know a lot of people may/will have food lost from potential power outages. FEMA Assistance/funding also available for hotel accommodation if possibly needed (More of a coastal concern than a local Villages concern, but one can never be too cautious). If you are unaware or out-of-state, please have a Villages neighbor go have a look at your home (Villa or Single Family property) post storm or feel free to contact me directly (A friend and Villager) so I (we) can ensure your Villages property is free of any wind shears, barometric impacts, debris damage, missing hardware, etc. Phone: 407-790-6755 (Direct) Office: 352-552-4766 Toll Free: 888-520-0363 If you have any concerns or questions that need “honest answers”, please know that @skylightroofingvillages has taken all the guesswork out and will simply provide a quick and truthful resolve without an up-charge here in The Villages. #SkyLightRoofingVillages / Roof With Us™ Thank you again in advance for considering the #skylightroofingvillages family! 352-552-4766 or 888-520-0363 State Licensing Skylight Roofing CGC1529262 / CCC1332541 Platinum Preferred FL Contractor 2024 TOTV Roofing Installation - Preferred Roofer Trust Pilot Top-Contractor 2024 NextDoor FAVE 2020-2024 Overview and Insights: • Family and Villages owned business • Free estimates with zero sales pressure • No subcontractors • 12-OSHA10 Crews/Supervisors. • Full FL CGC / CCC licensed & displayed on all our equipment. • Workmans Comp • County Permits always applied for with 3-Inspections on each installation. • Photo and Video log on every install • Everyone receives “Top Grade” Architectural Shingle (No Tier-Selling) • ARC Documents conveniently managed • Platinum Preferred FL Contractor Roofing Installation In 2024-2025 https://skylightroofing.com/the-villages/ https://nextdoor.com/pages/sky-light-roofing-inc-the-villages-fl/ Skylight Roofing Villages FL 10 - Nextdoor https://nextdoor.com/pages/skylight-roofing-villages-fl-the-villages-fl/ Sky Light Roofing, Inc. - Lady Lake, FL - Nextdoor https://nextdoor.com/pages/sky-light-roofing-inc-the-villages-fl/ Skylight Roofing Inc - Nextdoor https://us.nextdoor.com/pages/skylight-roofing-inc-the-villages-fl/ https://nextdoor.com/pages/skylight-roofing-sumter-the-villages-fl/ https://www.talkofthevillages.com/forums/roofing-438/skylight-roofing-328367/ https://www.trustpilot.com/review/skylightroofing.com |

I would have opened my door for your representative who I had a 3pm appointment with today but your company was a NO SHOW.

We usually don’t have solicitors stop by our home with our Law Enforcement flag flying.

Yet one more reason to love our metal roof - roofing "companies" (legit or not) don't waste their, or our time coming to our house at all.

Let me clearly understand your suggestion. If you lost power for 24 hours even if it was an inconvenience, you should be sure to get your money from FEMA which is intended for emergency relief.
And you can get yourself even more money using magic words about food even if you don't have a food emergency and are doing fine and were able to replace your food losses because can afford one refrigerator's worth of food replacement. It is exactly that get what you can without really being economically at need that comes from the same mentality as all the phony roof claims. I'm not doing anything wrong, the roofer says it was from a hail storm I never noticed and I need a new roof.

I have had over eight solicitations from roofing companies to repair my roof. The insurance agent insists upon a covering of a tarp using sandbags. As my roof is 11 years old, I am thinking about have the whole roof replaced. However, every roofing company says that they will give me a quote for a total roofing job but then they never send me a quote with prices. Every company wants me to sign on the dotted line without giving me a quote or any idea on costs.
Yesterday, I gave up and signed with a company that will tarp using sandbags and have included language in the contract that states I can void the contract if insurance doesn’t cover a complete roof replacement. My wife likes them because one man was from Ohio and I got to drive their cybertruck. This is not how one should decide on whom to use but I was at my wits end with this issue. So, hopefully someday I will have my roof repaired or replaced with something better than I have now. If I still owned my computer business named the Hackery, I would probably be driving my own cybertruck. Last edited by twoplanekid; 10-14-2024 at 06:21 AM. |

We had a young man ring our doorbell last week. We didn't answer after looking out our "peep-hole". Figured he was cruising the neighborhood to solicite new roofs, since he was backed up and looking up at ours. He soon went on his way. Our house is 15 yrs old so probably soon will need some updates BUT not from someone who knocks on doors!!
