Another Linda--I am so sorry and angry too that these "nice" :edit: young people did this to you. You have to follow though and not let them get away with it. They will just go out and do the same to other nice trusting people like you.

This reminds me of when our landscaping had been ordered and paid for. Nothing, nothing, nothing.

After months, my husband called to let them know I would be in town the following week...and if the work wasn't done, they'd have :edit: to pay dealing with me.

Needless to say, the work was finished when I arrived.

Hi Linda, I'm sorry and I hate that also. When we first moved in, the people across the street from us hired a "nice young couple" to do their landscaping. Needless to say they got half if not most of the money, started the job and never returned. I even had these people in my house and around it giving me an estimate. It creeps me out now. Consequently we read that this couple was arrested. I don't know if they're out now doing yet another scam. Needless to say, we hired a different landscaper, GREAT JOB!, and my husband told him the story and this young man wouldn't take even a down payment, just wanted to be paid in full when the job was done. I've referred him to many other people. He's great. If anyone wants his name, please feel free to pm me. He truly did a beautiful job and he's very reasonable. :bigthumbsup: :bigthumbsup: :bigthumbsup:

Funny. My husband says don't waste time being upset, just hire someone else. It isn't all that much money. But what upsets me is not the money but that now I've got to make a decision about what to do. Ruin their business? But aren't they doing that themselves? I didn't do anything wrong, so why do I feel guilty about taking some sort of action? Enough sole searching!!

As I've said, they did part of the job, were hard working and knowledgeable. But they never finished, don't answer their email, and when I have managed to reach them always tell me they will be out the next day. Never happens.

Linda, oddly enough the name Bridget does sound familiar, but the man's name was Tim. I remember that because I used to have a dog named Timmy. hmmm I don't know if that's them or not to be honest. Could be her with another guy. They did have workers with them. I'm with you on the frustration. But I also get my Irish temper up and would campaign to ruin their business and would definitely use the Senior Sleuths that were talked about. I remember this couple across the street were very hard working for about a day and a half. But the people were having a big job done, so this couple got away with quite a hefty check.
