Violent mob my a$$! The only violence of any significance occurred when a Capitol Hill thug, er I mean cop, murdered an unarmed woman.

In case you were asleep or on another planet all summer long extremely violent mobs were in major cities all over the country, robbing murdering, raping, burglarizing, and committing arson and many other felonies all summer long.

LOL So the witch hunt committee denies the report while profering zero evidence.

This is just like the russian collusion witch hunt. There's no "there" there. Some people never learn and keep swallowing the garbage the media puts out.

Capitol Violence — FBI

Lots of these people have been charged and some convicted of these violent crimes at the US Capitol Building on January 6, 2021.

thank you for the fair outlook. violence is wrong, no matter who does it. the mystery is how thousands of people can congregate for over a year or more with NO ISSUES, then ONE singular event manipulated by outside forces condemns an entire group over an 'insurrection,' for lack of a better word. some blind eyes still remain shut.

The culprit were the Capital Police who started the riot. Look for all the videos not just the ones from MSM. They tell a different story, this was a very sad thing because the people behind it are government workers.

I also object to the comparison in any way. The purpose of each event is vital.

Having said that, I winced and had a heavy heart during the Floyd demonstrations, and nobody should ever endorse such actions.

Hearing the testimony of the officers before Congress, the pep talks given by elected officials and the threats since, again by elected officials, if it does not give you pause, there is a problem. The comments by elected officials since and , the disregard even for the legal process is disgusting at best. I can only hope that the testimony and actual records to be given at the upcoming hearings extends to punishment fitting for an invasion of our nationals capitol.

Drug addict who threw his housekeeper under the bus. I don't care about his politics, but that's unforgivable and gets you sent to the wrong part of the afterlife.

Default Insurrection v. Treason

"On the other hand, when a mob forces its way into the U.S. Capitol past security, through locked doors, through windows, with the intent of subverting the Constitution of the United States and overthrowing our government and harming elected legislators, that is an insurrection and should be punished with the maximum penalty the Constitution allows for insurrection, which is capital punishment."

I believe you're confusing insurrection with treason, which is the only crime specifically called out in the Constitution. Per 18 U.S. Code sub-section 2383:

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States.

I am a Republican, and I was horrified, disgusted and sickened watching the Capital Riot.
