So the 35 year old black guy who was executed while washing his car is just a data point and not a trend?

I guess we can say same thing about George Floyd.

You can't fix stupid. Most were not taught American history and if they were they didn't listen.
This isn't about the confederacy, it is a war on anything that might be about white people. It is a racist attack on the country.

Yes we have moved quickly from "we just want to take down Confederate Generals" to Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, Grant, Teddy Roosevelt etc etc

Give them an inch and they take a mile. It's now gotten to "that girl got raped cuz her skirt was too short" territory. "These statues are just asking for it"

I'm still waiting for the name change of New York and Yale, both of which were named for or founded by actual slave traders.

Yup …. It's a sad state of affairs. But thankfully, we have the 2nd Amendment, and it's so easy to exercise. Only a few states suppress it …..New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey and Illinois (and maybe a couple more).
I always carry when travelling, and sometimes while here. But methinks that I should carry all the time. After all, TV is considered a "soft target".

I would not be able to provide the answer without getting political. That being said, I drink my coffee with my left hand.

In the photo of the 35 year old man in the link you gave, he is giving a gang hand symbol. Frankly, I don’t mind if gang members kill other gang members, so long as they don’t shoot non-members. But last week, wasn’t there a man in Ocala who was shot in the neck by a stray bullet while driving past a gun fight in progress? I would love for the police to protect everyone who wants to be protected, but what do you do if they don’t want to be protected? It’s a difficult situation. Do you give people what they want or what they need? And what if the people who wanted to defund the police then complain that they aren’t being protected? Life is rather confusing and difficult these days.

You know they say if you’re fearful & you turn your guns in you’ll have nothing to worry about because they also say, “Guns Kill”. Make sense!

His hand signal looks like a two handed shaka symbol to me, article notes that he was an entrepreneur who designed African themed clothing.

It seems to be nationwide-like a work slowdown-a historical union tactic. For example in Atlanta, about 6 or 8 of their Police Force outright resigned. And many are slow in answering calls. Their Union seems worried about the BAD publicity about the recent Atlanta Police shooting and nationwide anti-Police MOOD. All Unions tend to have a "all for 1 and 1 for all" CREDO! That leaves the big and for the near future question of whether the Police Unions (which are VERY strong) are going to fight "tooth +nail" for ALL their members-right or wrong. The Atlanta shooting appears to be an overreach for one so-called "bad apple", or at best an over-zealous apple. Remember, society's attitudes change and there seems to be a power shift FROM less adversarial Policingmethods toward a softer, citizen's safety 1st, community uplifting attitude nationwide.

So police union work slowdowns are causing more shootings in NYC?

I'm sure a softer citizens safety community uplifting approach will have the great results seen in CHAZ.
