Now that Neil Young is no longer on Spotify, I wonder what music they will be playing in the rest homes?

Officer Bimbeau in Hollywood Knights summed up last night’s halftime show. “ That’s not popular music that’s horse bleep”

Whether you like rap or not, I think the bigger issue here is that you have daytime T.V. and most families that watch it, do so together. Listening to disgusting lyrics is not something we had to live with or deal with...our rock music wasn't nasty, degrading or humiliating to anyone. Some of it was silly, nonsensical or ridiculous but there was so much more and the music was melodic. Rap has no melody...it's speaking in someone's rhythm and for the most part it often paints a very misogynistic picture of women especially, uses the N word unnecessarily if it's supposed to be offensive (whether you're black or white) and the constant F words are ludicrous. That just tells me you are incapable and an untalented lyricist when you can't produce something worth watching/hearing without them.

Rap is NOT singing! Rap is equivalent to the 60's hippies that recited half witted poetry in coffee houses, and just as entertaining. Say what you will and try as you might, but you can act like you are "with it" all you wish but you are NOT young, even if you attempt to endure and like their rap krap. I know plenty of young folks that enjoy our rock and roll, but I know of hardly ANY seniors that enjoy rap. I've enjoyed everything from classical, to jazz and country western and rock, but I have never found one rap piece that I have even tolerated. Even elevator music is better, in my opinion. I know of NO seniors that listen to rap at home or in their cars. I am sure there are a few on here that will dispute that statement, but they are only fooling themselves. Thank goodness most of my grandkids have more class.
