Wrinkles are also very useful....you can hide stuff in them and it leaves both hands free while shopping.

Re: Girl Talk

No wonder the economy is going under. If you did something about the wrinkles the cosmetic companies would be the best blue chip stock to buy.

These are wonderful comments about how we go to sleep and wake up in the am.

To all my sistahs, Julia was on chat last night with Donna, some other people and myself. It was about four in the morning. We did a posting under Non Village discussion.

Julia says she loves us all. Wrinkles, gray hair, sagging bust, bottoms getting lower, hair grayer, and all of our other bodily woes. She also said the only person she ever sees in the gym is Vetman.

Re: Girl Talk

hahaha that's right HB. She sees vetman, but she doesn't see his wife! That's because I'm too busy at Curves! :o (My face is still on milk cartons. Are they still looking for me in Canada Bare? I think the APB has spread to Mexico.) Buenos Dios Curves . . . I was just headed your way. ;D

Re: Girl Talk

Chel I am so impressed with you. I tried Curves a few times. I am so uncoordinated I was unable to do the exercises and I could not remember all the things I had to do for each machine.

If we keep gaining weight,do ya think we can fill in all our wrinkles?

pm10 06-02-2008 02:18 AM

Re: Girl Talk

I like your thinking, Nonie! that would certainly be an achievable goal for me!!

Hyacinth Bucket 06-02-2008 03:51 AM

Re: Girl Talk

Excellent idea Nonie, one goal I can reach extremely easily.

Re: Girl Talk

Everyone was raving about Crocs a while back. (I think it was during a discussion of foot problems). I had a pair of Crocs in the back of my closet and never wore them. About a month ago I started wearing them and haven't taken them off since. I finally get it!!

nONIE 06-10-2008 02:29 AM

Re: Girl Talk

Crocks really do feel better then most sneakers. Oh which reminds me, wrong topic but nobody calls them gym shoes anymore do they? :dontknow:

Re: Girl Talk

Don't worry Nonie, I don't even know what Crocs are...do they have a heel?

Hyacinth Bucket 06-10-2008 01:07 PM

Re: Girl Talk

Nonie, I know what you mean. One of the good things about this forum we all remember the same words that things used to be called - way back then.

Re: Girl Talk

And then HB there are those of us who aren't from the east coast and have never heard of certain regional terms....like croc's. I get that it is a comfortable shoe, but have never heard of it, or seen it, not here, not in CA. What makes it so great?

Couldn't wait for an answer...looked it up...you guys are talking about what I use for water shoes????? You have got to be kidding?

Hyacinth Bucket 06-10-2008 01:31 PM

Re: Girl Talk

Susan isn't there a song that goes something like this "...you call them water shoes I call them crocs...." :dontknow:

Re: Girl Talk

Nope, Susan, they're not. 'When I first moved here and saw Crocs on people's feet (all over the place), I was seriously amazed! I'd seen them on a few people in California, but most of us used them for the river, reservoir, beach, boat -- water si. land huh??? Here, they are de riguer and people swear by them. I may have to break down and buy me a pair.

Re: Girl Talk

Susan

Crocs aren't regional in the USA, they are immensely popular here in Canada as well (and have been for years). I'm a late bloomer and just started loving them. Best thing is .. they are so light. A lot of doctors and medical personnel in hospitals here wear them. They come in all colours, and there are lots of cheaper knock-offs sold.

I was at a dressy party last week and saw someone wearing them with an elegant pant suit. It is an addiction, like TOTV. Watch out. You too will be wearing Crocs to bed. ;)

I just bought something yesterday called Okabashi, they look like crocs, but a little more elegant design in sandals, perhaps it is the wave of the future. :-*

nONIE 06-10-2008 02:58 PM

Re: Girl Talk

Oh I know all about Crocks, I have about 50 pair of them (slight exageration). The nice thing is they now come in different syles. They have an adorable little girly style called Mary Janes.

I also have a knock off pair that I bought a pay less. I hate to admit this but they are much mor comfortable then the actual "Crocks" brand. and Half the price!Go figure!

Its actually the sneaker/gym shoe that I was looking for the current word for. What do they call them these days??? :dontknow:

Just Susan 06-10-2008 07:12 PM

Re: Girl Talk

Well my friends, if you say so...maybe I will wear those shoes in public, but there is going to have to be some serious mind changing on my part.

Mine look like round toed Mary Janes in black. I use them for excercise in the pool. (I figure I am already wearing a bathing suit how much worse could it get??) I think mine are really really ugly!!!! But they help keep my feet from cramping. I can't imagine wearing them anywhere else.

They are cushiony, but they are rubbery. therefore hot...true?

Lots of changes in store for me I guess.

nONIE 06-10-2008 07:30 PM

Re: Girl Talk

Susan, they are not really that hot because of all the air holes. Hotter then open sandles yes, but not uncomfortably hot. Gosh, Im beginning to feel like I live in the prehistoric days compared to California. ::)

Barefoot 06-11-2008 01:07 AM

Re: Girl Talk

Susan, the ugly part of Crocs is part of their charm. They are so ugly they don't even pretend to masquerade as something pretty. Like Doc Martens. ;)

Just Susan 06-11-2008 02:47 AM

Re: Girl Talk

Ya...but Bare I didn't like those either. ::) I couldn't believe it when my daughter wore her Doc Marten's (all she wanted for Christmas her sophmore year) with her prom dress. :dontknow:
Actually if I had it my way I would never wear shoes at all.

I saw this poster today and thought of Nonie. She and I are both missing our TV homes and want to return to the Reservation as soon as possible.

Also for Susan who is wanting to move to TV.

Don't count the days.
Make the days count.

I remember my mother saying "Don't wish your life away". Now I know what she meant.

Re: Girl Talk

Im really trying Bare, great advice, but its so :edit: hard!!! :(

just like the song,"I left my heart in SanFrancisco" well, you know the rest. sappy but true.

Re: Girl Talk

Bare :agree: :agree: :agree: with you. It is so true what you wrote. If we don't make the day count that we are living in, it is a lost day.

Thank you for posting this.

Today I bought a quart of frozen chocolate yoghurt. I just checked the container and someone ate most of it. :dontknow: I hate it when it when that happens. And yet, strangely, I'm the only one home. ;)

Re: Girl Talk

It wasn't me Bare, I ate the ice cream.

Hyacinth Bucket 06-12-2008 01:33 AM

Bare that happens to me also. I think it must be Julia.

Yes HB, it could be a ghost. Because strangely I also find chocolate disappearing from the places where I hide it. Ghosts are so smart.

nONIE 06-12-2008 02:46 AM

Re: Girl Talk

Could your ghosts names be Biggins or Brutus? :dontknow:

Barefoot 06-12-2008 02:49 AM

Re: Girl Talk

Nonie, strangely I think the ghost who eats my icecream has some stupid name like barefoot. She is the one with the muffin top for a waist line.

Oh God! My two favorite nutcases! Nonie and Bare. love to you both, chels

p.s. I have a strange ghost in my house that keeps asking me why all the lights are on. I won't shoo him away though, he pays the bills! LOL :joke:
