Default Recommendations for golf travel bag

Thinking of traveling with my golf bag as checked luggage on Southwest Airlines. Looking at the Bag Boy T700.

Anybody have experience checking a golf bag? What kind of case did you use?

Thanks.

My BagBoy developed a large hole in the fabric after only three trips. I don't remember the model.

Always ship FedEx.....less hassle and dragging.....which is why I no longer have a bag. FedEx provides the box

Pack and ship charges 65 or 70$. I bought a soft bag for 35$. I've flown Southwest several times so it more than paid for itself. On Southwest, clubs fly free.

I agree. Club Glove are the best. I had one for many years and most of the guys on tour used them.

Expensive, but well worth the price.

I have a Calloway soft bag and have used Southwest a few times. I haven't had any problems but I sign a release each time because it's a softbag. Hard Bags have insurance if a club breaks, soft bags do not. I check in on the outside and tip if I have a lot to carry and want a short line. I usually take more balls than allowed and less clubs and an extra pair of sneakers if my other bag is a carryon.

Anwhere from 45 - 56 depending on size and weight. Doesn't beat free on Southwest but it sure is more convenient. In PA we had a FedEx office close by, here I have used pack and ship in Colony. Now that we are here full time it will be rare for me to ship again. I also had priced UPS but FedEx actually had a better program, price was very similar.
