So you pay a premium to live in a community with a lot of rules, More than any place I have ever lived. But you do not like the rules ! What am I missing?

Exactly and it can't come soon enought. I really thought I would be able to play with my NY Giants T-shirt on by 2012. I wear Converse Sneekers to play golf just to iritate them! lol

We moved to the villages because of the rules. I am sure a few would like to have a boom box blaring out some music while they practice. Rules are required to separate Order from Chaos and thank your homes investment value that THE VILLAGES has a lot of rules.

Default Examples of Rule Breakers from the Past

1. I think that's a really unfair rule and it infringes on our rights and I'm going to break it. I won't pay the tax on that tea, and in fact, my friends and I are going to throw it into the harbor.

2. I think that's a really unfair rule and it infringes on our rights and I'm going to break it. I believe that women and minorities should have the right to vote and access public facilities just like the majority.

3. I think that's a really unfair rule and it infringes on our rights and I'm going to break it. If I want to drink distilled spriits, I should be able to do that.

4. I think that's a really unfair rule and it infringes on our rights and I'm going to break it. If I want to worship God in the manner I choose, then I will.

5. I think that's a really unfair rule and it infringes on our rights and I'm going to break it. I'm going to help those slaves escape to freedom.

I'm not taking a side on the golf rules, I'm just saying that there are examples of rule breaking that have made us what we are today. Frankly, it doesn't matter what I wear, I still can't break 100.

What a stretch to compare #1-#5 with rules at a driving range!

Don't think that was his point - but rather just because something is a rule doesn't necessarily make it right.

I mean think about it.Was he going to measure the next woman's straps if they looked borderline narrow.Maybe it's me and rules are rules but to me this policy at least about the width of women's straps is totally absurd. And please don't tell me that this is in effect to prevent bikini like attire. This outfit she had on would be acceptable anywhere.
I agree with you. If you read peoples post they go on about collared shirts,cut-off jeans and such nonsense. They cannot understand that someone at a driving range most make a decision about a womens 2 inch shoulder strap sundress. They are so caught up with this stupid rules they cannot grasp what you are saying. Yesterday a guy said he caught soeone stealing dirt,He said he got the cart and the plate. I said who did you turn that info over to. Nothing I said stealing is stealing, and a guy who blasted me now says well just a little dirt stolen what a hypocrite.

Do you remember years ago when gentlemen had to be wearing a coat and tie to get into a nice restaurant? And ladies had be wearing a skirt? Nowadays you go to a "nice restaurant" and the guy at the next table is likely to be wearing a wife-beater t-shirt and his female companion a skirt, yes - a skirt that barely covers her buttocks.
Just saying. Just saying.

Remember the 60s and the 70s women wore mini-skirts and hot pants to nice restaurant. Sure you remember ,you are of that age.Its not about what you wear its who is measuring. Mam I think I will have to measure your skirt lenght.I think you would be offended.

Times change. You don't even need to dress up for formal dinners on a cruise anymore. I'm not saying that's right or wrong, just the way it is.

It's not "measure this or that" it all comes down to society. We, as a society, are held together by rules, laws and codes of conduct for without them we would be a barbaric nation. Every organization and every thing has rules. In the jungle it's survial of the fittest, in society it is something more starting with the 10 commandments.

It's not unusual to see laws, rules and codes to guide our lives. Those who believe they are above the law? Well they are considered a menance ot civilized society. But rules can change, must change as society adapts.....it just ain't gonna happen here and certainly not today
