Candy crush is making millions of dollars. It is free but many people but extra moves to get them through a level. I read an article recently and the numbers are astronomical. So free is not necessarily free.

I'm just seeing this thread for the first time. I spent about two weeks as an addict to Candy Crush, and on four or five occasions I was one or two moves from completing a level, so I spent $.99 for extra moves. Once I spent $1.99! And since I'm not a Facebook user, I had to pay $.99 each time I moved on to a new screen. I believe I was at Level 54 when I starting thinking about how silly this all was, so I stopped playing and uninstalled it from my tablet. I have had no withdrawal symptoms whatsoever. I figured any game so addictive that it could get a cheapskate like me to spend money on it might be a good investment, so I went on the net to see if I could invest in Sega. Apparently you must be a Japanese citizen to invest - too bad. By the way, my son calls Candy Crush "internet crack" . . . . .

The only thing about playing the quests to move ahead is that I completed the 1st quest and now had to wait 24 hours to play the next one. Apparently you can only play one quest per day - that's how they get you to pay. At first I thought it was minutes like when you are moving through the levels and run out of lives - but then I realized it was hours when I went back in and couldn't play.

Do these steps also work with Pet Rescue, which is my game of choice now. Less luck and more strategy for me is more fun. Also I don't know how to get to the next level when it gets blocked. It seems to free up eventually but I don't know when that happens. Sorry for highjacking the thread. Back to Candy Crush.

Keep playing one day like magic you get it....I don't know whether the game gets sick of you trying or you just get it.

Hey folks, the designer's intent is to get you to sped money by purchasing more moves and boosters. So, either pay up or just hang in there.... If you think you can beat the programming, continue to frustrate yourself - yeah, you will eventually get to the next level, but your frustration will only increase. C'mon you already know this!!!!

LOL...I love this game! I am at Level 125 and never purchased any boosters! I have been stuck for several weeks at different levels but just keep playing. You really don't have to buy extra moves. Be patient! Wait until you get to the levels where bombs explode and you only gave 45 secs to clear all the jelly! Blood pressure rises!

I've been on 65 for about 4 months and I only play when I don't care and hopefully I will be surprised and I will beat it...LOL

Exactly! I don't flatter myself that I have any skill at the game. It's the luck of the draw. I know the necessary combinations and that helps, but I swear it's just messing with me until it gets bored! Lol! Remember, when it offers to let you purchase anything...step away and nobody gets hurt.
