Depressed

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel ,
"Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead
You to the Promised Land."

Nearly 75 years ago, (when Welfare was introduced) Roosevelt said,
"Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel, this
Is the Promised Land."

Today, Congress has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of Camels and mortgaged the Promised Land!

I was so depressed last night thinking about Health Care Plans, the economy, the wars, lost jobs, savings, Social Security, retirement
Funds, etc ....
I called a Suicide Hotline.

I had to press 1 for English.

I was connected to a call center in Pakistan ..I told them I was suicidal.

They got excited and asked if I could drive a truck......

Folks, we're screwed

You seriously need to get back down to "paradise". The short time you've been back north has had a negative affect on your outlook!!! Hope everythings going well with momma and baby. Now hurry up and get back down here!!!

I'm filled with optimism!

I live in, all things considered, the greatest country on earth. I have every right I need, and the law of the land protects me and my rights. And I'M FREE!!!

I started with nothing, and was able to work to support myself and a wonderful family. I have everything I need and enough left over to help my loved ones if they need it. I have some extra and feel great when I use it to help others who don't have the same opportunities I did.

I spend my retirement time looking around for someone more fortunate than me. I'm still looking.

God Bless!

Lovely post.

A old Italian tailor born in Italy was visited by his son in his shop in the USA.
A man came in to pick up a tailored suit. He asked how much it was. The tailor replied twenty dollars. The man gave him a fifty. He went to a shoe box and put in the fifty and pulled out thirty to give the man his change. His son was aghast that he was still doing businee like this after many years. He son asked, "hiow can possibly know what your profit is"?

The father replied, " I came to this country with my shirt, pants ansd a pair of shoes. I met your mother, bought a house and had four children. I sent all four children to college. Minus the shirt, pants and shoes. that is my profit.
