On target for an early bedtime again tonight. Have to catch up on 3 weeks of little to no sleep. Nap time never seemed to be an option. Not that I'm good at that anyway. Is napping a skill set one develops after retiring? Are there classes in TV that teach that? Or are you guys all just naturals like my husband?

It was something I learned in the service. Give me 5 minutes and I'm getting NOTHING but 4.5 minutes of sleep..

It is NOTHING but sad the things I am an expert at. So many useless talents.

Now that makes NOTHING but sense.

By the way, if I haven't said it before thank you for your service both then and now.

You are NOTHING but under a lot of stress. I would gladly swap my napping talent for some of Toms cooking talent.

No need to thank me.. I loved serving in the Marines and I make NOTHING but a good living contracting to the Forest Service. But thank you for the thank you.. lol

Now that sounds like NOTHING but a fun game. I'll gladly take your napping talent and give K my stress. He seems to handle it so well......being the Kommander of this rocky ship. I thought I'd better add some context to that or he might take off on another tangent. He seems a little "wiley" tonight.

Well let's put it this way, not everyone would "volunteer" for those postions whether you make a living at it or not. It takes a special person. Just ask fw - I bet she'll agree. Now quit blushing.....lol

Being a smoke eater takes NOTHING but a VERY brave soul. Being a soldier is no walk in the park either. Those who face danger have a very different outlook about life and tend to appreciate things more.

Thanks for explaining that further - NOTHING but special people.

So I just noticed there is a "Walking Dead" marathon on today. I don't know why I like that show. I keep saying it's the story behind the relationships of the characters and/or the storyline itself being good vs evil and how different people react in survivor mode. But let's be honest here. It's really about all the hunky men on that show.

Now, fw, before you make any judgment, remember that you started this topic on NOTHING. Remember awhile back when you were swooning over your blue-eyed country western crooner? So don't blame me for bringing this up. Besides, it's about time this thread contains some girl talk. I had to put up with those guys doing their guy thing on late night for months. It wasn't easy back then keeping things under control.

I have never seen that show. I do like all of the forensics and crime investigation type shows. Same with books. NOTHING like good mayhem but zombies is a little much for me.

Just ignore the zombies- they mean NOTHING. The character acting is really good. Several of the main characters are Brits - well-trained in their field compared to most American actors. Yep, that's just one more excuse I use to "watch" - lol

Actually for NOTHING but hunk value I like Seal Team

tomwed 07-29-2018 08:18 PM

On the way home I was listening to the radio. I don't know the source of the announcers question and answer. The question was at what age do the roles of children and their parents reverse so that start they looking out for you. The answer was when we turn 49. That's something, not nothing to think about. Would you agree?

I meant to start watching that, pretty much for that very reason, but never got around to it. Now that you've reminded me of it, I'll have to check it out during my NOTHING downtime.

When we turn 49? Meaning the parent? That is NOTHING but surprising. I would think you would have to factor in the age of the child too and that an exact age for either would not really be able to be determined. What am I missing?

nothing----the parent is 49---my guess would have been closer 69-79. In my case I'm 30, 32, and 34 years older then my children. they didn't provide enough information or have a follow up Q&A.

Way too many variables for this to be valid. NOTHING but conjecture (I got that from all the lawyer shows)

Right, I NOTHING but agree that it would have been a good bit older than 49, by at the very least 10 years or so. I had my son at the age of 30. I think at 19 he was more concerned about other things, not me or his dad. That's why I mentioned factoring in the age of the child. I would say it is something, not NOTHING to think about. Interesting topic....

No, just messin' with ya. Not for NOTHING, but you're almost as easy a target sometimes as I am most of the time - lol

At least I figured out how to get you back here pretty darn quick. Gotta give me points for that.

So you're admitting that you're NOTHING but a manipulating woman? :1rotfl:

Yeah, on that note I probably should have. The problem is you forget NOTHING. And now it's my turn tonight to admit to NOTHING. :p

Over and out before I get myself in any more trouble tonight......even though it was kind of fun.

Stick around. I'd like NOTHING more than to see how much trouble you can get into. Then see how guilty you feel in the morning..

Damn, I really, really missed NOTHING! You all were on fire so to speak. It is supposed to be another beautiful day tomorrow. See you around 10 AM, that’s the plan Stan.

What was the Canadian Mounte Person who posted with us weasels all the time? Was his or her name Bullwinkle?

fw102807 07-30-2018 06:37 AM

Today is shoebox day Nucky if you want to get away from NOTHING. It's a very happy place.

As far as getting into trouble, I'm pretty much NOTHING but a wuss. Although I do enjoy having a little fun once in awhile skirting around the edge. If not for NOTHING, the shocked reaction from those who know me is always funny to me.

So good morning, everyone! It looks like fw is off to do some good service today. Thank you, fw, for giving of your time for such a worthy cause. In going through stuff, I just recently came across a letter from a young soldier thanking me for sending him a package over the holidays some years back. I was helping out my friends who were very active in the USO at that time. It was so heartwarming and after reading it and now hearing about your service, I keep wondering if I shouldn't get involved again. It would be much easier doing so from here because the USO office is much closer than if I lived in TV. I may have to look into that. Being of help to others and making a difference can really change one's own perspective and certainly helps to get you out of yourself.

Well, that's my speech for the day - usually it just ends up being exactly what I need to hear. So essentially I'm NOTHING but talking to myself! Darn, I need some morning coffee....

Well, if there's going to be NOTHING but trouble, better that we take turns. Somebody has to keep things in line around here. We can't both be getting in trouble at the same time. Otherwise, fw will have NOTHING but a headache on her hands and Nucky will probably just have a field day.
