As you have said before, NOTHING but respect for people who put themselves out there like that.

Hope they get a break soon and that NOTHING happened to the dozer transport people.

We were back in around 10:30 Not too bad. Still haven’t heard the specifics on the dozer transport. Will hear about it at the 6:00 briefing. You all have NOTHING but a great day.

It's NOTHING but pouring down rain up here. I keep thinking how that would be like NOTHING but music to K's ears if he was hearing the same thing there.

On a clear night, the sky really lights up with a space launch especially a big one like this.

Tonight may be really cloudy here in the Villages, unfortunately.

Thanks for the info, but I'm going to have to issue you a NOTHING violation. If I don't, the Kommander will be on me for not being diligent while he's away on an important mission.

That would be really cool though. Hope you end up with a clear night despite predictions.

I just remembered a Nothing story 20 years old about a traffic circle.

I'm from south jersey and there are circles. One day at lunch in the faculty room we were discussing the rules of the road and our circle strategy. We were shocked to hear that Pete, the head football coach and the guy you could always go to when you needed a logical answer said he doesn't look either way when entering a circle. It's a little like playing chicken. He said people just back off every time. That's not me but I thought I would give it a try. So the next morning I just headed into the circle not looking left or right and then in my peripheral vision I backed off at the last minute because another PU was barreling in and knew I'd get clipped. I safely exited the circle and the driver who almost clipped me was Pete.

At lunch that day he said he never saw me. For Pete's sake and my own I never did that again.

That's a great story but not for NOTHING where's the recipe?

Well this was a bonus Nothing story. What do you have in your frig and/or pantry and I'll come up with a recipe.

Abby10 08-11-2018 01:29 PM

Well, why you guys sort out your recipe dilemma I'm going to tell you a NOTHING weather story. Last night I mentioned a downpour. This morning, got up to meet a friend for breakfast and it was wet, humid, and overcast. As soon as I got home the sun came out. Thought about taking a walk but decided to take a nap (yeah, I needed one after being up half the night). Kept hearing what sounded like thunder in the distance off and on for some time, sun still shining. Woke up 45 minutes later to the room as dark as if it was closing in on nighttime. Got up, came downstairs to the sound of my phone blaring warnings about flash flooding in the area. Then the downpour and I mean downpour. Now the sun is out bright as can be and as I sit in my dining room looking out the window the steam arising from the deck outside is unbelievable.

Uh-oh, now I'm hearing thunder in the distance again?? NOTHING but crazy up here.

So how's the weather down there today?

They are calling for 6 inches of snow but so far, nothing. Wait a minute. I entered the wrong zip code.
It looks like hot and sticky.

I hope she is not emptying her pantry and refrigerator and when there is nothing left writing it all down. This could be the longest recipe I ever wrote.

Actually we did the train ride from Tavares to Mt Dora and had a lovely lunch. We just got back. As far as my pantry I pretty much have NOTHING and need to go to the market so why don't you just give us your favorite recipe and I will buy what I need. I already love the Wonton recipe and the one for Moussaka.

Don't even joke about it I doubt that there is anyone out there that NOTHING but hates snow as much as I do.

tomwed 08-11-2018 02:33 PM

That's nothing to joke about. I hate zip codes---I forgot ours and started with 0000, 0001, 0002

There is next to nothing in my house too but I do have frozen mussels. Did I do that recipe before?

Abby10 08-11-2018 02:45 PM

Back to dark skies, thunder, and now rain again. I could go on like this all day. Feels like NOTHING but a roller coaster ride of changing weather patterns by the hour. And now some lightening to brighten things up.......fun.....until the electric goes out.

Wish I could shift this over to the west coast. Minus the lightning, of course.

my kids favorite too---Tortellini soup---get the meat kind if you can find it---mushroom will do---

cut 2 carrots in circles, cut 3 scallions and put the green tops on the side

boil chicken broth add the tortllini and carrots, and scallion bottoms until the tortellini is done and sprinkle the green scallion tops before serving.

nothing to it-- but it is hard to find meat tortellini down here---the brand up north was cellentino

what made the meat tasty was a little bit of lemon rind---test taste some lemon rind on top of the cooked soup

I just made something new and it taste great---

i split a big zucchini, nuked it for 2 1/2 minutes, put face down in a skillet to brown it---then scoop out most of the insides

and brown the skin
mix it the insides with thin strips of salami, provolone, Parmesan, tomato [from a can], chopped garlic--
it goes back in the skillet with a lid till the cheese melts--i added hot sauce

it's really good
hmmm-did i forget nothing?

Abby10 08-11-2018 04:28 PM

Speaking of yummy, where's Nuckster? Not that I'm saying HE'S yummy but he's always looking for good eats. He's been NOTHING but missing all day. Must have been all that late night NOTHING activity.

I thought I'd get another nap in myself, but NOTHING doing.

You guessed it. Mother Nature just proving who is in charge. NOTHING but windy and dry.

Here’s a picture of the rolled dozer. Cougar Creek Fire Information - InciWeb the Incident Information System
The bad thing is a couple crews and engine strike teams got trapped behind that and had to spend the night on the mountain. They helicoptered in meals, water and the all important toilet paper. At least they gave them the day off today.

When I initially saw that picture, I was wondering about that. It's not like anyone who was on the wrong side of that rollover was going to get by.

NOTHING but glad to hear there were no injuries though.

Did NOTHING but go to the local mini mart first thing this morning. Although it probably doesn’t matter. We all stink of smoke and dirt.

Thank-you. I'm just good enough to be a good for nothing. I am good at skiball. Although I've never been able to figure out how that could be useful in my life. When I was dating I never overheard girls saying "You know what he's good at? skiball"

So what's the plan for the rest of the day, besides NOTHING?

As I recall it permeates everything. I read that the smoke is being seen as far as New England. NOTHING but horrifying.

We’re standing by waiting to see if we have a chance to re-engage. At least they sent in tons of structure support. I’ve seen equipment from departments all across the state.
