In an effort to try to get even the thought of K's last post out of my head, let's talk a little country. So fw, although my husband and I listen to and enjoy all kinds of musical genres, he probably listens to more country than I do. I think he often likes NOTHING more than the lyrics/stories behind them than anything else. How about you? I know you and your husband are big fans. Who are your favorite country singers?

I tend to lean toward the more contemporary country artists. Love Brett Young, for example -

I have been listening to country and pop on an Ocala station for a few years. I do like a lot of country music and not for NOTHING.

For some reason this one comes on a lot when I am in the car. REDNECKER (Lyric Video) - HARDY - YouTube

I had never heard the Brett Young "Mercy" song before. Pretty good.

Thanks, Tal, for responding. That was NOTHING but rude of me. I meant to ask before ending my post if anyone besides fw listens to country but you read my mind.

Loved this song and not for NOTHING. I have always been deeply religious but mainly because I wanted to find out why things happen as they do. Why do bad things happen to good people and all that. And despicable people get away with just about anything.

That's pretty funny, Tal, it reminds me of my hometown.......which I was NOTHING but happy to leave at the age of 17 - lol. I do admit to going back to visit family though. Every time there is a funeral or wedding everyone says to my siblings, "I didn't even know you had another sister." They all respond back, "Yeah, she graduated high school, left town and never came back."

That is NOTHING but a wonderful song which successfully crossed the religious genre to the secular due to its popularity. There are lots of books on the topic of which you speak, many of which are wonderful personal stories of how great tragedy led to much good. In fact, there is a movie coming out shortly if it's not already in theatres called, Palau which might interest you. A movie that really struck a chord with my son when he was probably middle school age was called, End of the Spear. I took him to see it when it was in the theaters and he said afterwards "Did that really happen"? It's a good one. Not sure if you can find it anywhere, but if not, when I get down there I have a DVD of it that you can borrow if you'd like.

Since we are country music fans it’s a long list. I like the artists from a few years ago best like Toby Keith, Brooks & Dunn, Chris Stapleton. He likes Hank Williams Jr. and Brad Paisley. NOTHING like some of the newer ones that sound like rap.

I think everyone wonders about that Tal and it’s NOTHING we will really understand. I do somewhat believe in karma though.

End of the Spear (2006) - Rotten Tomatoes

I certainly remember that movie. Have not seen it for a long time though. Took some anthropology classes at the University of Nevada, Reno and it was NOTHING but quite interesting how some "primitive" societies interacted with much more technologically advanced ones.

DAMN, I put that book down FW. As soon as things lightened up in Jersey with my friend I chilled on the book.

I love me some Country, I love me some Ozzie, I just love musica. Funiculì, Funiculà. I'm still listening to everything except one thing that is NOTHING but dead to me, Raparoonie.
