I'm up to the challenge.. Hopefully we'll meet some neighbors who will show us around some.. Sounds like there's NOTHING but great opportunities to make friends in The Villages..

You are so right about that, Ken. Most everyone is so friendly and welcoming. One time I went down with my sister-in-law for a week. She wanted to take a nap one afternoon, so I went out and walked the neighborhood that we rented in. I probably didn't get more than a quarter of a mile away and ended up back at the villa 2 hours later........too many people to chat with along the way! And you always manage to find something in common.

You'll appreciate this one. My husband and I were walking a neighborhood around dusk one evening. A couple came toward us with some very visible, reflective clothing on. We made mention that they certainly could be seen easily at that time of day. Here, they were coming from a Gold Wing party down the street and were dressed in their riding gear. Next thing we knew they were taking us into their garage to see their new bike and then their house to show us a model we had not seen before.

NOTHING like the people in The Villages. Of course, you already know that to some extent from your cruise encounters.

Thanks, Abby..

It will be an adjustment when we move. Both good and not so good.. We're on close to 5 acres. We have lots of privacy but not many neighbors. Nobody cares what we do to our house or property. Nobody cares if I tinkle in the bushes.. lol

On the plus side I'm looking forward to not having to take care of this property anymore. It'll be nice meeting new people. The entertainment/activity options are endless in TV.. And of course the WEATHER! IF NOTHING else I'm ready to get out of the wet here..

Now if I can talk Mrs. Howell into letting me get another Goldwing..

About that bush or behind the shed tinkling. Forget about that here. What I use when I’m getting down and dirty around the yard is a lysol bottle in the garage. Perfect neck size even for a well structured man. I keep it in the garage with a 1/2” of bleach in it. NOTHING beats the manly art of whizzing behind an oak tree but this is what we got.
One thing, don’t keep the bottle where your wife will find it. Only bad things could happen.

This is true. After all, I would be NOTHING but worried if you guys started talking about your clothes, or your hair, or the latest thing in nail art. Men have to be men and women have to be women....one is NOTHING without the other in my book.

Ken, Don't worry about the adjustment so much. We lived on 10 acres up in Tennessee mow'in 3 1/2 acres of them. Glad I don't have to do NOTHING of that anymore. The Big thing is Downsizing alot of NOTHING U have now before U move to TV. Just think of TV as a part of a Puzzle in Retirement, cause U will meet so many nice people will'in to help U settle in & find ur way around TV..... It was NOTHING but BEST move we ever made....

Thanks, jsw.. I'm already in talks with my employees to take over the business so that's one thing that will hopefully be out of the way.

The wife was talking about planting some more apple trees. Then I explained I had hoped to be out of here before they started baring fruit.. lol..

But we are starting to think about things we buy. Will this be something we'll want to move? Is it something we can live without until we move? How many yard sales are we going to have before we move? lol

NOTHING but things to consider..

If that's NOTHING but a tease to get some of us down there sooner rather than later, I don't know what is.

80s in February-- NOTHING to sneeze at. Actually the allergies often kick up in this weather.
