Default Bad experience Mansfield Landscaping

A neighbor had Mansfield do their work. Their trucks parked 100 yards away in front of our house for 3 days, including one worker with his boat that he worked on!! When they finished there was a large oil spill/leak on the road. My wife talked to the workers who said they would clean it up - They Did Not. Called district office who said if Mansfield does not do the cleanup, the homeowner who used Mansfield is responsible for the cost of clean up and any road repair needed. My wife called back to Mansfield, and some man "went off" on her saying no way were they going to fix the spill. My wife says she has never been talked to in such a rude and ugly manner, and then he said he would not talked to her anymore, and hung up!!

You're not alone. He was rude and ugly to us also. Trying to work with him was very stressful and we would never recommend his company. There are plenty of other landscapers to choose from.

Default Everyone's number 1

Having owned my own business, I know that ANYONE can claim that they are number 1. You can be the worst business ever and still claim to be number 1. It's all propaganda to make people think they are hiring and doing business with the best when in fact, the business is the worst. I've seen it time and time again. Be careful with people who false advertise. Some businesses earn the title and some don't. Do your homework.

I am generally happy with the work that Mansfield did for us. I am generally unhappy with the process of getting there and the after sale customer treatment.

First of all, the owner really lacks the personal skills to deal with people in a business-like manner. He is very abrupt, pushy, impatient and, I swear, never looks at you. I know, I know, I should have shown him the door. Lucky for him, his work is pretty good. Otherwise, I don't know of anyone who would tolerate his arrogance.

He NEVER came back to check the job and totally ignored my several requests for an itemized invoice of what was paid for the job. I'm assuming that it probably never went through the books. There were a few things that I feel should have been tweaked by Mansfield, but I've fixed them myself.

As I stated, I'm pretty happy with the work. However, I'd never call him back for the other work I have planned.

Xavier

Refreshing to read something other than stellar recommendations about Mansfield. Thge way they toot their own horn on TOTV (I know, they advertise), you'd think they were the only game in town.

I called to request an appointment for a visit to our home for ideas and a quote. I got a lecture over the phone, instead. Steve Mansfield even told me how many minutes and seconds we were on the phone like it was my fault I kept him, but he wouldn't stop lecturing. He wanted me to look at his website, pick out the design we wanted from the pictures and then he would tell me the cost. I wanted something with character to fit our space, not a cookie cutter selection. He was rude, had a caustic nature to his voice and that ended any thought of using him for our project. He may do nice work, but I thought the brain damage drying to deal with him would be just too much. Before I get blasted, this is just my opinion, though. I know others speak highly of him and his work. Personally, I don't want to find out.

And then you have Village Landscaping claiming 100% Satisfaction Guarantee when I know a few of us wish we never hired him either.

After an experience on the phone with Steve from Mansfield, my husband and I both agreed there was no way we could deal with a big bag of wind!

Any work that we have done is photographed and videoed by us to maintain with our records.
Suggestion: If neighbor is having any work done and the business is parked in front of your house doing something that creates an issue......take pictures, video, call community watch.

Their ads remind me of a "self licking ice cream cone"................

Well, at least you and Villager got reamed out over the phone. We had to go all the way out there to be reamed out. Once there, he wouldn't let us give him a price range, and when we finally told him what we wanted, he came up with something completely different. I'm like, What happened to the fact that I don't want any palm trees?

So he gave us a plan that was totally not what we wanted, and a price that was way out of line, because it wasn't the plan we wanted
Then tried to suck us in by saying he'd give a $200 discount if we shouted him out on TOTV and made our decision right then.

We walked away. The next day he left a vicious voice mail on my cell phone accusing us of stealing his design and going to another landscaper. HA! It wasn't the designed we ever wanted! We went to another landscaper who would do our original design, for less money.

We also had an unpleasant experience with Mansfield. I won't go into details, but he was rude, obnoxious, arrogant, and customer hostile. We didn't select him and are glad we didn't. We were very pleased with the a landscaper we used, who was friendly, professional, helpful, and delivered what was committed. (Jaime's).
