The surgery most often recommended for basal cell and sqamous cell carcinoma is called MOHS. A process whe by the dermatologist takes a round shape cut that is then analyzed by a pathologist that in turn "maps out where there is still cancer present. Then the surgeon takes another slice going deeper into the areas where the pathologist indicated the cells were still present. The new cut is submitted to the pathologist and the process is repeated until all margins are free and clear. The process because of the repitition and analysis can take all day. The success rate is well above 95%.

Google MOHS surgery for more info and do yourself a favor...do not let any dermatologist do the cutting....go to one who specializes in MOHS...not all dermatologists do....and not all MOHS surgeons do regular dermatology.

Most dermatologists will recommend their patients to a MOHS surgeon.

Check it out befor you let anybody "cut".

Default Dr. Corwin

Has anyone been to Dr. Corwin for skin issues. I have an appt. in October and was wondering about the issue of being possibly cut happy.
Corwin is with the Skin Cancer Center of Central florida in the Sharon Morse Bldg.

Need a dermatologist who is on our plan. Has anyone used Dr Bond, Dr Macinnis, Dr Moorhead, or Dr Towry? Thanks. I go to Dr Tran and like him, but husband has a different insurance plan.
