I suffered with severe vertigo for 8 months. Nothing worked. Tried everything and several doctors and pills. Got a referral and went to Dr James Atkins at Orlando hospital. Next day was in Epley maneuver chair. Cured in one visit. Yes one visit. I went for two for good measure but have never experienced anything like this. And that was over 2 years ago. Give them a call. Vertigo is the worst feeling in the world.

Default BPV Treatment

I had sever BPV and ended up in the hospital. After a tests and a CT scan of my brain, essential to rule out other causes of vertigo, and after treatment at Lake Center for Rehabilitation, my Primary Care Doctor referred me to a specialist in Vertigo & Balance treatment. Here is their information:
Dr James Atkins, MD
Florida Ear & Balance
410 Celebration Place
Celebration, FL
Tell: 321.939.3000
Hearing Aids And Hearing Health Services In Florida | TruEar

I tried physical therapy at Lake Center for Rehab, they have several locations in the Villages, but the limited Eply procedures they could do in house didn't fully eliminate my problem. It helped but not fully.

After confirming the diagnosis, Dr. Atkins recommended the FULL Eply treatment. It was not fun but after 3 sessions it totally relieved my problems/ symptoms. As far as I know they are the only facility in Florida with the Eply chair which enables them to do the full Eply treatment protocol.

Any time I have a minor reoccurrence, the Eply maneuver they taught me at Lake Center for Rehab has taken care of it.

Please be sure you get checked out to insure you have BPV and nothing more serious. I am told most good Drs and Lake Center for Rehab will only do the physical therapy once other potential causes have been ruled out.

Good luck!🤠

I originally went to Lake ENT because of, what I thought, was water in my ear. They proceeded to do a hearing test, then instruments up my nose, and another test which I can not remember. They then sent me to Lake Imagining for a sinus scan. A few days later, a female from Lake ENT called me to say that they could do immediate sinus surgery...both sides of my face, within the week.
I told them I needed to thing about it, and did some research and scheduled with Dr. Shen, an allergist. When I saw him, almost 4 weeks later, he told me that he saw the films from Lake, and 4 weeks ago, I had a severe infection in my sinus cavity....hmm....
He put me on a potent antibiotic for 10 days and it cleared. Too bad for me, that Lake ENT didn’t call me and tell me the actual results of the scan.

I went to the Silverstein Institute in Sarasota for sever ringing in my ears. They gave me a diagnosis but there is no solution for my problem. They do extensive testing and will come up with an answer and hopefully a remedy for you. My situation is caused by atmospheric pressure. I have very small ear canals which tend to close when the whether changes which causes a whistling sound. For some reason it is not so annoying anymore.

I suffer positional vertigo and keep a supply of Meclizine on hand. A bottle of 100 25mg chewable tablets is available at WalMart for $14. Meclizine is like Dramamine but non-drowsy. Works for me.

Dr. Jiron in Ocala ENT is very good.
Also I found for me OTC dramamine was better than Meclizine

Seems The Villages area needs more ENT services. Hopefully more practices will open up.
