I was able to get in today with just using the Publix auto refresh. But like I previously indicated, I had 3 devices running - laptop and 2 tablets. And all three refreshed at different intervals based on when I accessed the website on each. When one of the devices (the tablet) showed the entry icon, I abandoned the other 2 devices and completed the entire process on just the one. And that included making an appointment for both my wife and I. That was one of the things I learned from the info that this thread provided.

That waiting time for my next shot is not 30 days. It's 28 days or exactly four weeks at the same place and same time. Close to 2 million or perhaps more than 2 million Florida residents have been vaccinated. That is about half of all residents over the age of 65. As more and more get vaccinated, fewer people will be applying and the odds of getting on the site and getting an appointment will get better. Half of the residents over 65 have been vaccinated in a little over a month. It should take about another month until every one over 65 has gotten their first shot. We're probably looking at the end of March before all over 65 residents are fully vaccinated. I realize that I was lucky to beat the 10:1 odds but as I said those odds are going to start to get much better. I think that some people believed that 330 million people were going to get vaccinated in a week. We should be thankful that this vaccine was developed and approved in less than a year. In most cases it would be many years before something like this could happen. Be patient, it won't be much longer for everyone.

Corvettegal,
Good question. Representing consensus opinion as of today: Basically, you should be online as soon as the window is open since that what determines your place in the queue...THEORETICALLY. Last Friday that happened at 5:58. So open your browser so you can see the site and watch it, starting at say 5:55. If the counter starts by itself, you're good. If nothing changes by 6:00, start refreshing constantly until you see the counter start. Once the counter starts. Do nothing. Just watch to see if the screen changes. Do not manually refresh. Go back to OP for thoughts from there. Hope that helps. |
