Default doctors ripping off insurance company ????

I am in The Villages 2 and 1/2 years and going to the same GP for 2 yrs . I liked the doctor but am very unhappy with her office policies . In my previous home state I could have my blood results mailed to me without going back to their office . Here not only will she not allow them to be mailed to me they charge for an office visit to get the results . And they charge a dollar to get a copy of them . This is ripping off the insurance and the patient. I am ready for a change .
Has anyone else experienced this policy with their doctor . I am really curious .

Perhaps she is uncomfortable sending them because you might not understand what the results mean or that you might be concerned about a result being abnormal and doesn't want you worrying about it until she can talk to you? Have you discussed this concern with her? If you like her as a doc then you owe it both of you to give her a chance to explain her policy. Charging you $1 for the copying is a little much though....

Sometimes you have to complain to get what is right. You will get no resolution if you don't discuss your concerns with the doc. Since you are willing to leave her, you don't have anything to lose.

Yes, I had the same issues with a former physicians' office and I left that office. Fortunately I, as of today, do not have many health issues so I use Paramount Urgent Care for my blood work every 6 mos . I am given the results over the phone within a day or 2 and my scripts are called in. I request a copy of results which are waiting at the front desk for me... no charge!

As the Chaplain at TVRH I get a list of persons who have expired in the last week. Sadly, I can vouch for knowing how some of the vacancies occur. I wrote out 13 sympathy cards this week alone. And we probably sent an equal amount of people to Hospices who expired there.

I see Dr. Winston Evalle. He is an internist. he is located at 3351 Wedgewood Lane. His office is listed as: Villages Internal Medicine and Senior Clinic. His phone number is 352-259-0364. He really takes time with you. I have been going to him for about six years now and have referred many people to him and they all like him very much.
