I posted this post in another thread but wanted to post it here too.........

Just now (Feb 4 at 8:20pm), I received an email from Safe Restart confirming my appointment for my second shot at the 466 vaccination location. The confirmation appointment is for the same date and time that I had been given when I made the appointment for my first shot back on Jan. 13. The barcode is the same too.

The Safe Restart (GMR) system is working the way I hoped it would.

I just finished sitting at my computer for an hour and once again I never got the chance to "Book it". When it was all over and done, I looked at the number of vaccines left around the State. Marion, where I would like to be, was down to zero however, St. Johns still had 2200 left to allocate. I know I am expecting miracles, but is it too much to ask that somewhat with a brain could work out that Marion (The Villages) needs a lot more than the measly number allocated, and St. Johns and the other counties with vaccine left, needs a lot less allocated to them?

Got our appointments via the Publix site the day before yesterday and received our first shots yesterday. Be patient and it will happen.

At the time of your post, there were still over 1,000 appointments available in Volusia County. That is less than a 2 hour drive from The Villages. I have been able to book appointments for friends in 3 out of 4 attempts in the past 2 weeks. And, this may be a coincidence, but every time I have been successful, it was on my cell phone, not on my computer, which was also logged on. I also noticed today that, when the website refreshed, the number of available appointments in the counties did not seem to change until about 7:30 am, about 30 minutes after site went live. It is difficult to understand why no appointments were booked in Marion County in the first 30 minutes. Go figure. Good luck.

FL needs to redistribute the vaccine for FL. Palm Beach county has thousands, Lee, Brevard, Volusia too. What's with Marion and Citrus? Still waiting on GMR site since 1/12. You'd think with The Villages, Spruce Creek etc in this area we would be allocated a LOT
more vaccine.

You made my point for me, None left in Marion, hundreds left elsewhere and they don't seem to be being used. Unfortunately, I cannot travel too far from this area due to disabilities. However, we are being patient and can wait.

According to this Florida vaccination report Sumter County has vaccinated about 18,500 people.

18,500 puts Sumter County at 24th for number of vaccinations.

According to this page Sumter is 34th by population and according to wikipedia it is 35th.

24th in vaccinations while only 34th or 35th in population: it seems like Sumter County is doing pretty well.

According to the Publix website, all appointments are being booked every time. The Publix appointments are limited by their capacity to give the shots without interrupting their other business. They have not modified their stores to handle extra vaccine appointments.

Are you referring to the GMR Saferestart website or the Publix website?

This thread is specifically about the GMR site on 466 behind Fresh Market. There are other threads about the Publix vaccination effort.

Does anyone know if the GMR Vaccination Center on 466 is open 7 days a week?

I know that GMR was doing the people who had appointments prior to starting with the people who did not have appts yet.

Anyone know if they finished with the appt people and have started on the people registered but no appts yet?
