I also go to the Villages Health Care. I go to the Santa Barbara one. I got in on the ground floor so had no waiting. The Dr. I use to go to (and I liked him) had an NP that I loved. She joined the Villages Health and I followed her. My Dr. is Dr. Pead but I always ask to see the NP. I don't have their insurance. The care you get there is wonderful !!

Pay attention to the never ending sales pitch, every Sunday in the Daily Sun, from Villages Health to get as many people as possible enrolled in UHC Medicare "advantage" plan. It's the only advantage plan accepted by Villages Health and of course the one plan who pays royalties to Morse if you enroll in the plan.(this fact is clearly stated in the ads for the plan that run in The Sun) The ads routinely allege speciality treatment of those who enroll in the advantage plan.
So you may have UHC AARP, but it's probably a Medicare part B Supplemental plan and not the favored advantage. Here's some info on how this evolved and who one of the architects of the plan is. USF pulls out of its $4 million specialty care clinic at the Villages | Tampa Bay Times After USF failure in the Villages, top official finds job there | Tampa Bay Times http://www.saintpetersblog.com/archives/231298 It's also interesting that if you belong to UHC Medicare Advantage, you don't have the option of being treated by the Moffitt Cancer center, since they were dropped as a provider by UHC advantage. So now Morse wants everybody to enroll in an advantage plan that won't allow you to treat at the highly touted, and partially paid for by Villages residents, Moffitt facility in the Villages that he pushed Leesburg doctor says Villagers shouldn't waste donations on Moffitt Cancer Center - tribunedigital-orlandosentinel . We don't have United Health but have gotten in to see dr same day. No problem. We did need to wait several months, though, for the initial appt. I think once you clear that hurdle, you're in.

I turned 65 on July 10th and signed up with United Health Medicare Advantage and stopped in the Pinellas office of Villages Health about two weeks ago to see if I could get my care there, and I have my first appointment at Pinellas next Friday the 24th. They did at first want to give me Colony because Pinellas had one doctor out on leave, but I asked and they gave me Pinellas.

My husband Is medicare with aarp F. I am Florida blue. We both signed up And waited for less than 4 months for initial Appointment. Once you are in, you are in. When all the houses in Districts 10 and 11 are occupied, we may have a doctor shortage.

Well, it seems that you got special treatment because you have United Health Medicare Advantage. We don't and were told Pinellas wasn't taking any new patients and we had to go to either Colony or Creek Side. My first apt. is near the end of August.

We signed up while we were up north and picked a PCP (primary care physician) in October 2014. When we returned to the Villages in December, we both had a consult with her in mid January 2015. We were extremely impressed with her however, she informed us that she took a promotion at one of the other centers BUT had high recommendations for another physician that coming to our center. We had the choice of following her to another center or staying at the center that was most convenient which we did. I've had three appointments and so far so good. Quite pleased. I would say to be patient as this is new.

We have UHC but not the advantage plan as I felt the dr choices were too restrictive for our particular needs (mainly our cardiologist was not in the plan)! We have Plan F and have been going to Colony since it opened. Short wait for the initial appointment but no delays since enrolling. I did notice that they tried to make as many appointments as possible with the NP's but I am not a fan of the NP for my doctor so I insist on seeing the doctor and have been satisfied. I like being able to see all of my medical info on the online portal. I have used the portal to request drug refills a couple of times and it was handled within 24 hours.
