OW ~ shoulder issues
Diagnosed with "subscapularis inflammation" by my PA (Physician's Assistant) and my symptoms are ~ pain when I extend beyond my loss of range of motion. Has anyone had any personal experience with this condition ?
I'm trying the ice/heat treatment but not sure if I should see a specialist? get an MRI? Get Physical Therapy? or give it more time with the ice/heat ? I don't want to take the NSAIDs. Any comments or advice would be appreciated !

Hiya Graciegirl ~ long time no seeya ? LOL ! Yes, it's been a couple of years since I posted on TOTV; but I made a quickie visit to Florida in January and fell back in love with it (at least in the winter). So gonna make another visit in the summer (OMG) !
TV is still an option and if/WHEN I sell my Oregon country home, I'd be interested in a TV rental ! (Rosalee)

Speaking as one who had fairly comprehensive shoulder surgery last summer, go see a specialist!
The inflammation could be caused by a variety of potentially more serious issues going on inside the shoulder. |

It's strange that it was only certain motions that would give me pain, like when I extended my arm a certain way. But I could still work out with hand weights to maintain my muscle tone. So, if you are able, work both arms to maintain muscle tone. Take it slow and easy until you get used to it. |

I agree that time is a great healer; when I had a torn meniscus in 1998 I did NOTHING, no drugs, no arthroscopy, only went on an anti-inflammatory diet, and in many months/years it did get better But, with the shoulder I have lost some range of motion ~ it hurts when I place my left arm behind me, can't scratch my back, etc. I'm thinking it wouldn't hurt to go see an orthopedic specialist who might have more insight regarding the problelm I don't want to do anything that might make it worse!!

An old joke: This guy goes to a doctor and says, "doc, my arms hurt when I do this"....(he demonstrates the motion). And the doctor says, "well, don't do that anymore!" |

It's my personal choice not to take prescription drugs; I try to maintain optimal health by natural methods and by avoiding any potential or real side effects from pharmaceuticals
