Probably not, unless they abducted people and dragged them to a gathering of more than 250. Individuals can choose to stay home

Apparently, they are following the closure route which will have a staggering economic impact. You do not know if it was the right thing to do until it is all over and then you cannot prove a negative, so erring on the side of caution seems to be the rule here. I understand both sides but the media has lost it’s mind and is spreading panic. Not good.

1/2 the people that died from this virus died in the same location. How many have died from this virus? Most people have no idea. How many have died from the flue this year? Seems like someone is playing this.

Again...What you fear you will attract! Just one more of the unwritten laws of the universe.

They are starting to cancel events now. Quite a bit of an overreaction to everything. More people die of the flu, then of the coronavirus! Only three people have died in the whole state of Florida! Taking precautions, and taking care of ourselves, goes along way! Now I hear they’re closing schools for two weeks up in Ohio. Unbelievable!

If you are concerned don't attend. Common sense. Why do you need authority to tell you to look out for yourself. If we close down the world who will collect garbage. Deliver goods from food to everything. Who will.pick up the money workers will lose if everything is closed. Will the bill collectors say it's ok we understand. Will the banks say we forgive your mortgage payments. Common sense if you are concerned do not go out see how long you can last. Do you have enough food etc. In the house for how long?

Thank you, somewhat. My mathematical brain screamed in pain from that illogical math, but even yours is wrong. You have to take a weighted average. You have to multiply the percent who die by the percent each age group represents in the total population, sum them, and then divide by 100%.

Suppose only 100 people were over 60 and there were 7 billion under 60 and none of them die. The fraction of the population who die would be a tiny fraction of a percent. So, even 8% is wrong.

Still wrong.

Default All schools closed in Michigan

Was announced this morning that all public and private schools in the entire state of Michigan be closed until sometime on April......that's as of now..due to the COVID-19 virus. I look for more states to follow.

People are loosing their perspective and their minds about this darned virus. Take reasonable precautions, decide where you want to go and realize that life is a contact sport, wear a cup...

I agree with the personal responsibility, but Spring Training is cancelled, any gathering over 500 people in NYS is cancelled, Disney and Universal are shutting down after Sunday night, so please do not downplay the seriousness of this cirrnt event.
