Default Natural treatment for plaque control

Thought this would be of interest to some. A periodontist suggests this process to keep teeth plaque free. I use 35% hydrogen peroxide on my toothbrush, which is great for teeth whitening as well as plaque removal, but this seems like a good alternative too. The HP is caustic so you have to be careful to not get it on your fingers as it will turn white and tingle. The foaming action reflects the bacteria that is being removed. The Baking Soda that is mentioned in the video clip will keep the PH balanced. I also put 35% HP and BS into my waterpik and will try this new one in the waterpik and see how that feels.

Thanks, lightworker. I often swish a bit of HP after I brush and floss and let it bubble for a few minutes while I shower. I also brush with baking soda using my swirly toothbrush. I always have good checkups and minimal tarter buildup.

Default Sorry Pooh. Did it again

I keep forgetting to add the link! Here is the link.

Powerful Gum Treatment Strategy - with Nadine Artemis

BTW Food grade 35% HP is what I use now, not what is in this link. If you want a weaker oxidizer you can use MMS aka chlorine dioxide. You can google it and find out about it.

I would hope that you are diluting the 35% down to 3%. If as an oxidizer, the HP desicates skin thus turning it white and causing the chemical burn and desquamation of tissue on your hands, what on earth is it doing to your gingival tissue at that concentration? BTW, the link doesn't mention hydrogen peroxide, it mentions apple cider vinegar. .

Doccrocker, you make an interesting point. I reread the posts and looked at the video. Now I realize that Lightworker was saying she uses hydrogen peroxide now, but is planning to use this alternative (apple cider vinegar) in the future. I missed it too; I was so caught up in the potency of hydrogen peroxide. Yikes.

Default Hmmm

My hygenist told me years ago that hydrogen peroxide is very bad for the gums and to stop using it.

Can apple cider vinegar be found at the usual grocery stores/supermarkets?
Publix, Winn Dixie, Sweetbay etc.?

Yes dilute any 35% down with "good" water and I think that I will dip my toothbrush into BS first to keep the alkalinity up. Don'r know why I haven't been doing that.. DUH! Will try the apple cider though as it sounds like a good alternative and may be even more cost efficient. Beats all the fluoride toothpastes that are still on the shelves.

We can only hope that as more people acknowledge total responsibility for their lives they will start seeing how we are being led. California has an anti-fluoride vote going at the moment I believe and hopefully more states will follow suit.

Yes, more and more people are waking up and it is through messageboards like TOTV that info is being shared. There will always be a wide spectrum of opinion, but each person can choose what feels right for them at the moment, and you can always change your mind and try something else if it starts to feel wrong.

Just have to be aware that the body can go into a "weird" place when it is eliminating "stuff" and not go into fear about that. What I do is back off for a day and see if the "weird" goes away, and then when the body stablizes, I will start again, maybe at a slower or lower rate and see what happens.

As you start to feel better, you gain more confidence in your ability to "read" your own state and that encourages you to take more ownership of your health. Lots of info out there and I always check for the pros and cons and see who is supporting what. Since the drug companies have opened up branches for "natural health products" it is getting harder to follow the money, but I tend to stay with health food stores and companies that have been around for a long time and whose products I can trust.

Sorry for the OT. I'll get off the soap box.
