You do realize we are talking about men hitting a ball with a stick. I don't subscribe to they are entitled because of their stress. My spouse worked in an operating room for her career. She would ground me when I was stressed out (I was so important because my salary was much higher than hers) - "what happened to you today dear is not the cure for cancer". I have never saved a life - I can't count how many times my spouse may have. She never swore, spit, tugged at her crotch, and refused to talk with her co-workers or patients. She most likely would have been dismissed. Now sit at the dinner table and explain to your children how these athletes have a right to release their stress. This is getting over the top. I am not a Tiger hater either. I respect him for being a great golfer. A class act - never. |

I find golf about as interesting as I do cricket and I once went to a cricket match and literally started watching to see if the grass would grow (it didn't). That being said, Tiger did make the game somewhat interesting, both in his prime and his comeback attempts. Without him, the game would have half as many viewers and a lot less money to go around. He did bring the game to the masses.
His personal life is just that -- his personal life. Most of us had a chance to have a misspent youth. We learned while we were growing up. He didn't have that chance. He was an athlete before he was a kid. He had a father who controlled every moment of his life. These are not conducive to making a well-rounded individual. He was raised on military bases. Considering the language heard on a base on a daily basis, I'm surprised he doesn't curse more than he does. I'm sorry to see the gloating when he doesn't do well, especially by the fans. He deserves better. He brought a lot to the game and still does. Why he keeps pushing himself so hard is beyond me. He has nothing to prove and certainly doesn't need the money. So, I guess it is because he does love the game, feels he still has something to prove to himself and maybe owes something to his legion of fans. So, congrats to Mr. Spieth for winning. Hope he can do it a few more times. Kudos to Tiger for coming in the money and here's hoping his body lets him win a few more tournaments.

Arnie Palmer and Jack Nicklaus are MY hero's. There is a word for what Tiger did among Professional Athletes . It's called Sport F******. Not everyone does it, women thrown at them or not. One of the reasons I love Golf is that it has a much better overall reputation for it's top Pros. Yay Gordon. Tiger, you had it all and threw it away.

Forgiveness is biblical and is done as much or even more for the forgiver than the forgiven. Holding grudges does not do anyone any good. Keeping all that anger inside hurts you more than it hurts the other person. An apology or forgiveness does not absolve the person of responsibility of his or her actions. They will always carry that, However if a person truly changes his or her ways, they should be given another chance. We all sin. It's what we do after we sin that's important. In my humble opinion, Tiger has mended his ways. He's in a new long term relationship that appears to be going very well. He has a good relationship with his ex-wife and with his children. Yes, he still has a way to go. His foul language on the golf course should be stopped. But I honestly think that he handles interviews very well and does a lot for the less fortunate. Of course we can always dismiss anything that anyone does by claiming that they only do for tax purposes or to polish their image or even just to make themselves feel better. The problem with that is that we'd have to believe that no one ever does anything for the benefit of others. I don't hold Tiger up as some kind of saint. Like all of us, he has good traits ands he has some faults. His faults are magnified because of the incredible scrutiny that he is under. I say give him a break and give him credit for what he has accomplished professionally and personally. ![]()

Same here, gracie. Well actually Arnie is #1 for me and then comes Jack. The only thing I ever held just a little bit against Jack was that he beat Arnie so much!!

I also agree about the gloating. Golf is one of the few games where we never root against someone. We always root for people. Even when I was playing, I never wanted my opponent to miss a shot or miss a putt. If I beat them, I wanted to know it was because a play better, not because they made an error. From what I know about Tiger, he is simply driven to be the best that he can be. He works harder than any athlete I've have ever heard about. I've been told thing by people in his inner circle that are incredible. He lives for competition and he lives for golf. Yes, a huge congratulations to Jordan Spieth. He made a great showing. Hope he makes more history. But I don't hope that anyone let's Tiger win any tournaments. I hope that he wins them because he outplays everyone else.

Oh no say it isn't true. Media (Orlando Sentinel - Roger Simmons) starting to post Tiger may have cheated on Lindsey. Just about the time we were defending him on TOTV. I guess you can't change the stripes on a tiger.

Not a fan of Tiger anymore. I lost all respect for him when he was caught cheating on his wife MULTIPLE times for years. Also, his on course demeanor, when he is not playing well, is disgusting. I have witnessed him throwing his club down range (his caddy had to go fetch it), cursing on the tee box with children right next to him, and spitting on the tee box after a bad shot. I think Tiger is a terrible role model for young people. Being competitive and wanting to win is one thing. But do it with class, like Jordan Speith or Ricky Fowler.

"{FORMER PRESIDENT SO THIS DOESN'T GET DELETED"} admitted in an unsolicited comment to two Playboy freelance writers that he had "looked on a lot of women with lust" and had "committed adultery in my heart many times," strange revelations all the more damaging because they appeared in a soft-porn magazine."
Washingtonpost.com Special Report: Clinton Accused I always thought "{FORMER PRESIDENT SO THIS DOESN'T GET DELETED"} made one of the most honest and revealing statements a man could make. I think ordinary looking wealthy and powerful men [and women I suppose] have admirers throwing themselves all the time. Chris Rock makes a joke about it in his act. "you are as faithful as your options". |
