Default Bonifay CC and flies

Last evening, a group of us (8) went to Bonifay CC for dinner. We sat on the patio because there was not a table large enough inside that was available. We should have waited for an inside table.

I saw lots of flies on the side of the building as soon as we walked outside. We sat down at the table and there were flies buzzing around and on the table all during the meal.

The food was mediocre to fair. I had a "Chipolte-Lime Fish Wrap" that was supposed to be spicy. Very bland and in need of salt, pepper, and hot sauce. The waiter forgot my request for hot sauce.

The drink of the day were alcoholic iced teas for $2. Those are pretty good but not a real bargain even for $2. Very little drink in a glass crammed full of ice.

Back to the flies, I would think the management would spray an outdoor fogger a few times a day to get rid of the flies. It is so disgusting to have flies buzzing around you and the food while eating.

Would I return? Only for inside seating. The restaurant is very visual appealing and the service was good. Food was okay and it is always great to socialize with Village friends.

We were there last week. Really enjoyed sitting at the bar and trying the drink specials at $2.00 pd. Bartender Jack is the nicest guy. The flies at the bar area were just disgusting though. Since I am not a bug specialist I have no answers to this dilemma, but it really needs to be solved before we eat there again.

We had the same experience about the flies. Someone in our group even said they should use fly strips. Surely there is a better way to deter flies these days.

About 2 weeks ago the wife and I decided to eat outside. A big mistake. Flies bothered us the whole meal. However, what was strange the other tables outside didn't seem to be bothered by flies. It seemed we were the only ones out there that had flies.

I've never been there but wonder if anyone has investigated why the flies are there. Is someone dumping garbage or some other "fly food" in the area? The flies aren't there for the $2.00 drinks! lol!

Had dinner there about a month or so ago, and mentioned to the waitress that the flies were awful and that we had the same fly problem at Havana when it first opened and they put citronella candles on all the tables and it helped. We said that management of Bonifay should consider something like that as well.

Apparently, they haven't done anything to correct that since then. Too bad, its a nice outside atmosphere but the flies were nasty.

After read all of these posts I wish I could be a fly on the wall to see everyone's reactions.

As for speaking with the manager based on the length of time and the number of files reported if there is anyone believes speaking to the manager would do any good then there is rec center in bonifay that I can sell you

there is a real problem there and i wonder if it has anything to do with that smelly monstrosity they are trying to cover over with foilage etc.

Default A reason!!!!

When you have flies there is a reason. The powers that be know they have a problem. They have chosen not to do anything about it. Sometimes I just wonder how far up the family chain this has to go before that layer is in charge of fly control.

Last evening I was there with a group of friends and I did not feel it was appropriate at the time to discuss the fly problem with a manager. I did send them an electronic message this morning.

Thumbs down Flies with dinner last night

We also went for dinner last night and asked for outside seating. The hostess took us to our table and before we sat down there were 3 flies on the table. We shooed them away but it certainly wasn't the atmosphere we were looking for to have a nice dinner. Asked hostess to move us inside because of the flies and she understood and agreed with us.......Had a great dinner inside but they really have to work on the fly situation. Shame on me for not bringing to the attention of the manager and I can only hope that the hostess pointed this problem out to him based on previous poster's complaints.

You dont think the manager knows about the flies? Im sure he does but does not care or is too busy to have the problem taken care of.
