The surcharge is for the Donna and Dunning Show on Mondays.

What others me about this comment is an actual occurance that happened to my next door neighbor. The were notified that four friends they hadn't seen in years would be coming thru the Villages. Wanting to show the friends the best of the Villages, they decided to take their friends to the Cattle Barons Club for dinner. They had no interest in the special show, just a nice quiet dinner. My neighbors were not aware of the additional charge. So what would most hosts do, come up with the $42 surcharge or suffer looking like cheapskates. I do enjoy the CBC from time to time but in my estimation the CBC really doesn't feel like a part of the entertainment taking place downstairs.

Maybe there have been a number of people who make reservations and then don't show up leaving them with a bunch of empty tables. While I've never heard of a restaurant doing it, hotels/motels regularly will bill your CC if you make a reservation and then don't show up.

We paid the cover charge this past Feb/March time frame to eat in the CBC and be able to watch the show over the balcony. We had a great evening.

I am really confused about your neighbor's complaint.
On two Mondays a month there is a $7 PP surcharge at the Cattle Baron for "Special Music".
And there is also an additional charge for the D & D show at Katie Belles downstairs.
So a surcharge at the CB on two nights a month seems fair, right?

Otherwise, no surcharge at CB .. correct?
So why wouldn't your your neighbor just choose one of the 28 days without a surcharge?

Perhaps I'm totally misunderstanding the situation.
