a standard response to anyone questioning anything here is "if you don't like it,don't go" I know because it's happened to me several times when I posted on here- the original poster was just pointing something out and got that lame response

I took them to the CBC for dinner. We were seated two tables from the railing. I asked if we could be moved to the table adjacent to the railing and was told yes, but there would be a $7.00 charge per person for a total of $28.00. The railing table really wasn't that much of an improvement so I declined.

I agree with the good Dr.

If a reader would read a post as it is written, sometimes it takes on a different meaning. As to my words outragous nonsense, these words were describing a totally different issue than a reservation fee. That was an issue that took place several years ago and my words were valid for a $28 upcharge I was asked to pay to change tables. Anyway, I suggest readers read the postings as they are written and don't amend the meaning.

Oh yes, by the way, the lady who was asked to pay a reservation fee cancelled her reservation for eight people.

I read your post perfectly well. Here is is copied and pasted from the original post.

It's pretty clear that you were referring to the reservation $1.50 fee as nonsense and the that you experienced something nearly as outrageous as that reservation fee. Without question, both of the words, nonsense and outrageous, refer to the $1.50 reservation fee that you're complaining about.

I don't think that a rumor needs repeating on TOTV unless the facts have been verified.

It wasn't a rumor. My information came first hand from a friend and neighbor who was the actual person attempting to make a reservation.

That makes it hearsay.

Perhaps things have changed since April.
Warren, perhaps you could call the Cattle Baron and let us know for sure.
I made that call to the Cattle Barons Club today. Here is the rest of the story. My friend was partly correct and partly wrong. CBC does charge a $7.00 special surcharge on two Mondays each month when they have what they call special misic. Also there is in fact a $1.50 reservation fee "BUT" that is a fee charged by Katie Bells for a on line reservation. I am not sure if the CBC employee gave wrong information or that my friend got the two restaurants confused. Im not sure I would agree to a CBC surcharge when all I wanted to do was to have dinner with friends. I never have the feeling that I am part of the Katie Bell entertainment when dining up stairs and have stand at the railing to see who is performing.

Warren, thanks for the heads up on a possible problem that we might not have known about. I wasn't aware there was a special $7.00 surcharge on two Mondays each month. As I read the various posts I was amazed at some of the responses. And people wonder why some people leave this forum with a bad taste in their mouth. The naysayer's might want to just back off and move on to other posts.

So don't go there on Mondays and don't call in a reservation and get great prime rib on Tuesday, no problem, since we're retired (well almost in my case) we can go any night we want to. Works for me. thanks for the heads-up.
