We have always enjoyed eating at this restaurant but on Friday, January 26, 2018 we had a bad night. There were 4 of us and we waited almost 10 minutes for a server and over an hour for our food. It was 5:20 and we were heading to a movie next door so it wasn't at a busy time. We were so disappointed and when asked the reason for the slowness we didn't get a proper answer. I did speak to the hostess and also remarked that the glass lights over the tables were VERY dusty. Her remark was that they were not cleaned today but that was a mute response as they looked as if they were not cleaned in a month. We were offered a glass of wine but we had to get to the movie.
We hope that they get their act together as we enjoy the food there. ![]() |

We were there about a month ago and decided never again. Volume level was extreme and food was mediocre.

With the growth of TV, the level of life style is diminishing to a point IMHO it will no longer be enjoyable to live here in the near future.since we moved here in 2011 the dramatic growth has made driving here close to driving in a big city, wait times @ restaurants have made it a hassle to dine out
Again, my wife just came home from MVP @ Brownwood and she was almost in tears--parking lot full, class floor space to the max and its going to get worse. since MVP has expanded its membership almost for free to the Villages Health plan members Please stop TV from becoming a maximum density urban center--remember what it was like to fly in the 60's and what it is now |

I've eaten and stopped for happy hour several times at Brownwood City Fire and enjoyed it each time.

Does anyone think there may be a tie in between City Fire and Red Sauce getting big numbers that is drinking on the porches vs the reduction in both time waiting and serving of dinners and the terrible quality of some meals? They are making big numbers on liquor which beats food
income/revenue. It would not be important under normal circumstances but given they have a sort of ownership of food and drink in Sumter Landing there is a built in closure of options on the Square. ![]() |

I, too am a Charter member of MVP; I go to MVP in SS, because my trainer works there & you can't get training in Brownwood in a private atmosphere

Honestly, we're thinking about getting another boat and going back to living on the waterways, again--freedom and a great sense of adventure--best times of our life

You should have bought up north by Nancy Lopez, there is no big traffic or congestion even in high season and you could easily go to restaurants in Belleview and Ocala that are less crowded with TV snowbirds. |

After living in Pinellas County (FL) for decades, I still can't help but smile when people talk about the awful crowding and traffic in TV.
Of course I liked living in Pinellas County too. ![]() |

We spent the winter months down here for 6 years before buying and there were times, especially at Lake Sumter, that we encountered long waits to get into restaurants. It seems since opening Brownwood those waits have diminished. We bought here in Fenney back in May and to this day have not had to wait to be seated in a restaurant. I'm not a patient person so I would most likely just leave if I encountered that but there are so many places to eat other than at the squares that we find it quite enjoyable trying them all. We have only had two bad experiences in restaurants, both were within TV and both country clubs. Don't want to name them as there is no reason to do so but other than those two experiences all has been well. Gracie is correct, if you go somewhere with the expectation that it will be a bad experience, that is exactly what it will be and nothing could be done to change that in your mind. I prefer to feel that wherever I go it's going to be a good experience and most times it is. Another thing I have realized is that restaurants that aren't good enough for those who are only searching for fine dining end up having the best food. I'm getting hungry now.

There is a very good book out titled The Believing Mind" A basic assertion is it highlights is that first a person decides what he likes or dislikes and then that person goes about finding points to support his or her belief.

It's January. We nix the idea of eating dinner out of Friday or Saturday nights. But it's a good trade for light crowds 3/4 of the year.
