We finally tried the place, too, and loved it. We had the shrimp and cheesy grits, and crab cakes. We also tried the desserts and had the lemon coconut cake and orangey-chocolate cake. It was all very delicious and we plan to return. Also bought the cookbook!
We went on a Saturday evening and the place was packed, but they found room for us at a cute table for two. As the old tv commercial went: "tryyyy it; you'll liiike it."

While the food was good the portions were small and way over priced. We had two sandwichs. two small cups of baked beans. two onion rings and two teas for $27. I think that is way out of line. Won't be going back.

I am not sure that is so bad. Sandwiches run around $7.95 each and very good, a side of baked beans is $1.75 each and the raspberry teas (bottomless) would be $2.25 each, so total of about $24 and tax would bring it close to $27. For the quality that is a fair price I believe.
And I would have added a slice of cake to be shared.

I don't think that's so bad. After all, this is not Denny's or MacDonalds (or God forbid, Havana). I think the atmosphere and service are worth it.

We usually don't go for getting sides and so forth too often nor drinks either, usually just getting glasses of water. That's probably why we're used to getting smaller checks at restaurants. Bill |

Anytime I see "Southern Cooking" advertised, I stay away unless my cardiologist can go with me.

You better stay away from the diner on the corner of 466A and 301 in Wildwood. That place is held together with duct tape and Southern hospitality. Their lunch buffet is keeping several cardiologists in business. But if you can get a permission slip to go there once in a while, the food is awesome.
