I most certainly judge "a Breakfast place" by fresh made Home Fries (and fresh made corned beef hash...not stuff out of a can) and certainly not hash browns out of a frozen bag.

And Rae Rae's has not only great home fries but the best corned beef hash I've ever eaten IMHO.

We had breakfast today (Lunch yesterday) at Darrell's Diner in Pinellas. Two eggs over easy, hash browns (delicious to me), three slices of bacon (the thing that keeps me from being a vegetarian). IMHO, everything was delicious. I don't care if they grew the potatoes in their back yard or poured out them out of a bag. They were delicious and cooked just right for my taste. There cannot be a third day or I will need to buy bigger britches.

Anybody remember the bacon grease cans sitting on the stove. I do I still have one. And I like the size of my britches.

Doggone. Can't go away for a couple of hours without missing all of this. I'll never be able to take a vacation. Good thing I live in TV and don't need a vacation.

Bless you my son! You and I seem to be a discriminating minority in sea of many indiscriminate fish! Rae Raes has the best CB Hash in the area and my other choices have far better home fries than the frozen deep fried c--p that Darryl's calls (Home Fries). Actually, Perkins has better breakfasts than Darryl's but they also serve the same crappy deep fried potatoes that they call home fries.

Welcome to Florida, you did know that you would not be able to get NY food here didn't you? Coming for the PA dutch country we can't find our stuff here either (and frankly our home fries are better than NY home fries) so, we need to either adjust to what is here, cook at home or start our own breakfast place....ok, so only two options.

This is my personal request. Don't bash a restaurant because it isn't like you had back home. Don't bash a restaurant because you prefer sauce that is sweeter or less sweet. Don't bash a restaurant because it is too expensive or there isn't anything on the menu you want. A menu is available on line for most restaurants. If you have food allergies or special needs, check first with the restaurant to see if they can accommodate your needs. Please let us know if the restaurant and bathrooms are dirty. Please tell us if they have bugs. Please tell us if you became sick after eating there. Please tell us about your preferences. Just don't bash the restaurant.

Part of this tirade is right on! It's all about preferences! I didn't go to the restroom in Darryl's so I can't comment on that. I never complain about prices. I don't worry about sauces cause I don't usually eat junk that's covered in sauce. I have no food allergies or special needs. All I want is the best breakfast available to me and it sure ain't Darryl's. Check my list of better choices and you might just find a good place for breakfast.

I was directing my comments to those who constantly bash restaurants for the reasons I stated. It was not intended as a personal attack on you or any specific poster. It is more of a build up of frustration after reading repeated not fair reviews IMHO. I thank you for acknowledging I could be a little bit right. . Many of us in the Brownwood area have been deprived of a breakfast place. Obviously the one we have isn't for everyone. I'll try RaeRaes next time I go off the reservation.

After golf we ate at the new diner. Place was packed. I had the BLT and Cole slaw, it was very good. Table mates had eggs pancakes and bacon and everyone was pleased. Bathrooms were clean and our server was very nice and friendly. Yes I will go back.
