Default The Fenney Grill from Farm to Table

Visited Fenney today to get my Fenney pin and checkout the Fenney Grill. As they didn’t have a menu to give to me, I took pictures of it for me and you. They are open from 8 A.M till 5 P.M. I assume the Sales & Information Center at the Fenney Recreation Center is a temporary location.

Unbelievable. That's the same breakfast menu at Tierra that they claim they don't make enough money they are gonna run there with very limited customers there. I remember very specifically when the villages management told the residents of district 2, " No, we won't opt to redo the El Santiago restaurant. We are not in the restaurant business". Sorry, what a crock in my opinion.

Do you know who is operating the Grill? Any of the current country club operators?

Sorry, I didn’t pay much attention to their offerings other than noticing a selection of doughnuts and I didn't ask who is operating the Fenney grill.

Since the manager at Fenney was being trained at Tierra Del Sol and at least one of the barteneders from Tierra Del Sol was transferring there I would guess the Fenney place is managed by whoever manages Tierra Del Sol.

A recent Daily Sun article mentioned Mackie McCabe, The Villages Director of Hospitality. I've never heard of Mackie McCabe before.

Apparently, TV is getting into the hospitality business? I suppose it makes sense with the 10,00 sq. ft. special event area that will be part of the new hotel coming next to Grand Traverse on 44.

Champion, I am sure you remember that The Villages ran Cane Garden, The Lighthouse, The Veranda (before Panara) and many restaurants north of 466 in their business plan to establish a needed business and then sell it later.

Now after rereading your post I see you meant something else altogether. This is new, you are right. I will stand back and probably watch them succeed, again.

I think Mackie McCabe is part of the family by marriage (isn't Page McCabe Jennifer Parr's daughter?). The hospitality business probably comes from the venture created with Amway of Grand Rapids, MI partnership brought to the villages by Tracy's daughter. The Evening with the Developer video mentioned the venture and what management they will be taking over.

Like Graciegirl said I will stand back and watch them succeed again.
