When we go out to eat with different neighbors, I have noticed a few complaining about the food or the service. Its always the same ones and unless they are really good friends three strikes and you are OUT! If they constantly complain about the restaurants they usually also complain about everything else in the world. IMHO we already see and hear enough of that......... I came from a family who was just glad to have hamburger mixed with bread and some beans and tators. My food "standards" are pretty low I guess. We have lived in several places and the food and service is the same here as any other place we have lived. Best thing----we have a lot of different places to eat.

The restaurants here do a decent job of providing what I think most people want. They want it fast, they want it cheap and they want lots of it. Add to that they are catering to diverse palates from across the country-not an easy job.

What I think it comes down to is the difference between eating and dining. The difference between a chef in the kitchen or a cook assembling meals. I don't think people here go out to dine, they go out to socialize and eat. I personally don't like onion powder, garlic powder and canned gravy, but I can always find something on the menu.

I happen to think Sakura is excellent and love Twojay's for my deli fix.
Agree 100%

GRACIE-

I tried your Ohio ice cream (razzberry & chocolate flakes). I DIDN'T NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THAT STUFF. What were you thinking?

Any dish that cost more than a Happy Meal will constitute unacceptable in the Villages

I'm not so sure Villager's want the food fast if it's Happy Hour. I love to sit and enjoy a few cocktails with friends before eating. Usually by then you could care what the food is like - only that you have something to eat and are enjoying the company. Like others have said "if you're looking for fine dining you probably need to go outside TV and pay a whole lot more". It all depends on what you're looking for.
