So no matter how good the Nathan's taste, I won't buy them. I like Sabrett's all beef hot dogs.
Had the opportunity to tour Kayem factory in Chelsea MA (Boston). Makers of Fenway Franks amongst others. The manufacturing floor is immaculate and the meats are all top grade cuts. The family owned, generational US companies will always have my loyalty

Fancy hotdogs have their place but the sawdust kind have a place in my heart as well.

Think back to sitting in the hot sun of Riverfront Stadium watching the Big Red Machine stomping the Dodgers while drinking a quart of Hudepohl Gold and eating those cheap dogs smothered in mustard and kraut. Good times.

Nothing better than Lafayette Coney Island and American Coney Island which are side by side on West Lafayette Street in downtown Detroit. Natural casing dogs, fantastic coney sauce, fresh chopped onions and yellow mustard. Delicious!

I just love how people from all over the world sometimes claim the local food where they came from is the only food worth eating. It really makes me laugh at their provincial attitudes. If these exact same people came from somewhere else, they would feel the same way about that food. /facepalm

After all, the famous hot dog eating contest is at Nathans!
Nothing better than standing out on surf avenue in coney island enjoying the only true American Hot Dog.

Now before you people from chicago chime in. Chicago style hot dogs are an disaster to the culinary world..who can taste the meat with a kitchen sink piled on it.

And lets not discuss something MidWesterners call “Coney Sauce”….there is no Coney Sauce in Coney Island

And lets not go anywhere saying that chili should be on a hot dog..at most, some mustard nd sauerkrut. You want to eat chili..eat it..leave it off a hot dog.

And New Jersey….ive seen them put cream cheese or mashed potatoes on hot dogs…another abomination to the human spirit.

Nathans is the only true hot dog….it must also be HALAL,
Yum. But now I must go to Costco today for my $1.50 all beef hotdog. I’ll pump mustard and add sauerkraut then wash it down with a sprite fountain soda!

Silly discussion, nothing comes close to eating under the umbrella. Sabretts dirty water hot dogs, with onion tomato sauce is the standard by which all other hot dogs compare.....

They even boil the disgusting things, for heaven’s sake
The ingredients seen to be a paste of unidentifiable source, much of which I am sure is waste from food bins, and veterinary surgeries.
There is only one item of culinary perfection that is worth eating, in a bread roll, and that is the Great British Banger.
Perfection in a roll or on a plate!
Yes, hot dogs are AWFUL (Get it?)

Human nature. The thread asks people's favorites. Obviously there's gonna be some bias.

But I agree with your assessment if it was sports. The best athlete in any sport, sucks...except when he is acquired by your team.

I have no problem when people talk about their favorites. It’s the BS statements that something is the absolute best and nothing else is worth it that bothers me.

With that said, there is never any reason to eat anything but vanilla ice cream on top of a brownie and then covered with Hershey’s Dark Chocolate Syrup. Don’t even think about using that lesser chocolate syrup that is also made by Hershey’s. Only Dark will do.

I hope that brownie has walnuts in it!
