My husband spoke with the owner last Thursday. He's planning on opening 9/14. Been having permit problems with Sumter County. I can't wait. He has menus posted on the windows and the sandwiches look wonderful.

That's good to hear. Always nice to try a new restaurant in the Villages.

My oh My, Will they ever open? The deli isn't even listed in the construction updates, in the Daily Sun, anymore.

I am anxious to try Gandolfo's. I notice that it is headquartered and has most of its franchises in Utah. I've visited many a Jewish deli but never a Mormon deli. It will be interesting to say the least.

Mormon deli? Really. I cannot type all of the things running through my mind. I bet you are from up north. I hope you are.

The Gandolfo's web-site says that the Villages location is opening soon.

Funny isn't it that we all grow up with different things and think everyone has the same things. I never saw a deli the first 20 years of my life in Columbus, Ohio.

I am certainly familiar with them now, but the nuances sometimes escape me. What is the best thing to buy, say, at a good New York deli???

When I was a kid they sold lunch meat and some salads at the butcher shop. I never heard of or ate a bagel until I was twenty something.

And probably New Yorkers didn't have mock turtle soup and Goetta.

There are a lot of things that are still unfamilar when I go to a real deli.

What is YOUR favorite thing??

****offle.

Hmmm. I don't get it either. Hey, Tony or TH, how come we can't write ****, (k...a...r....t).

I mean, geez. I could understand if it started with an "f". (I'm assuming we can't write fart.) But what the "k" is the problem?

BTW, GG, I almost long for the days when we all grew up with different things. I don't want every city USA to look like every city USA.

Yep, used it when I first started postin' on TOTV. I drew the face on a scuffed up ball 'cause it describes my golf game and philosophy well. I might have my share of errant shots/ posts/ days, but I sure am happy to be in the game!

Speaking of errant posts, sorry about the hijacking. What were we talking about?
