My turn to whine.

I haven't gone there. I just looked at the photos. They kept the stools. The one and only time I went to the previous establishment I asked for a table. I don't have a problem hopping to a bar or a stool to a high table but not everyone in my group can and it's awkward. There is a breakfast place in the strip mall with WD in Wildwood. I only went there once and it was packed. They had normal height chairs at the counter. I thought that was brilliant to encourage singles to eat at the counter.

Putting the patron's need first is smart. I wish they could install some appropriate panels to absorb the sound. I don't need to look at old junk tools hanging on a wall when I got the same old junk tools hanging on my garage wall that I still use. [that's a bit of hyperbole]

Guys wasn’t phenomenal but we enjoyed our meal an we’re taken care of properly. We will go back.

The constant bombing of most restaurants make it look like people are trying to be steered to a restaurant that the bomber has a financial interest in and away from a laundry list of places. Who knows? It is a bit much when it is constant.

Being a food critic is a great hobby but people invest their lives savings into getting these places going. I’m sure they are trying to please.
I think there are a few major factors keeping restaurants from investing. The rent is ridiculous and they also give a percentage of the gross to the “landlord” which is unconscionable. I’ve never heard of this before.

I may be a very small minority, or even a majority of one. But I have always liked Denny's.

Finally went with friends that wanted to go. We eat later than most in TVG so it was not real crowded. Service was good, food was more than enough to eat and flavorful. Pricing was fine. No complaints with anything generally. Our expectation was that we would see some of the food from his tv show, an assumption on our part. Nothing bad just not our preferences for future nites out.

Just met a couple who went to Guy's for lunch-nothing good to say about the place, food & service wise--their bill came to $35.00/ but it only cost them $10.00 since they had a $25.00 coupon--they said they will not be returning

We tried Guy's earlier this week for an early dinner after a doctor's appointment around the corner. It was just about 5:00PM, and when we walked in, the place seemed empty. Probably five tables were in use, and since it's a pretty large dining room, it seemed deserted. Not impressed with the ambiance at all. Bare tables (not really clean - crumbs were apparent), and warehouse like ceilings, but the service was good. The draft beer was very cold and fresh and was only $1.75 for a pint. We both had the meatloaf with mac and cheese, and the meal was just OK. Once I scraped off the gravy and replaced it with ketchup, the meatloaf was OK. The mac and cheese was pretty good. Will we return? Probably not. Frankly I'd rather go to Cody's. Cheaper and better.

Went to Guy Fieri's recently rather late. Decent house wine, crispy salad, and tasty wings. Wasn't crowded but neither was LSL.

If you owned the business and read 10 bad reviews I’m not sure what you would do but I would stop the bleeding by getting to the bottom of the problem. I wouldn’t want ANYTHING NEGATIVE posted about my business.

So much time has passed that it may not be able to be turned around in this case.

If a restaurant opened in most towns there is no TOTV’S to spread the word be it positive or negative. If I was considering opening a restaurant and saw the posts on here that burn a business because a meal wasn’t perfect I would have a second thought about opening in The Villages and move on down the road. Maybe the reason or contributing reason for empty storefronts.

In reality it doesn’t matter to me. Where we are in The Villages the Storefronts are full, the restaurants plentiful and I’m grateful to live here. Smashing others business’ doesn’t appeal to me.

How do the restaurant reviews, both negative and positive on TOTV, differ from the Yelp or TripAdvisor reviews on the Net? To be successful, a restaurant needs to be aware and respond to their deficiencies accordingly. Many of the issues raised stem from a lack of training, and possibly a lack of motivation on the part of the staff. Training is the easier issue. Motivation is tough!

It's all about the staff. Hard to find/keep good staff in this part of Florida. That is the issue in all the business in this area, Full employment. Just saying.
