Gracie, as I've said many times, I respect you greatly and do understand how much you love this place. Boy Howdy, is a pretty darn mild response. But I would point out this thread is "Katie Belles-Yuk". That really invites other negatives by it's very name. So it's not like the poster was going out of their way to be negative, just piling on. I guess I see that a bit different than a first post that is negative out of the clear blue.

Jim, I would point to what the Admin said the other. We should talk about the subject, not the posters. And here I go addressing you and Gracie directly (I probably shouldn't but you both have good points.) The Katie Belle discussion has been pretty frank and strong. But nearly all the posts are, "I hate the place", or "I love the place". I think these are fine. It's when the posts are personal people get a bit put off, and rightly so in my opinion. "Good more for me" and even "Boy howdy" when you don't know how it's meant could be off putting.

Again, I know I've been talking about this for awhile now. But I would like to tell you all, I continue to get frequent PMs from people saying either they never post or they used to post and stopped because of the rude comments. It's all well and good to say to lighten up, and I agree. But when comments seemed to be personal, most people are not going to take those well.

I know I seem to be going crazy with the "play nice" statements. I do want to point out these are not always my first reaction. There are occassional times here that I really want to get in people's faces and tell them what jerks they are being. I just try to listen to my better angels and resist doing so.

OK, feel free to tell me to shut the hell up.

you are right. I have taken what you said to heart and will try to do better.

boy howdy.

I find it's easier on me to err on the side of angels.

Hopefully there is a brand new nightclub-style restaurant on the drawing board for the Brownwood area...one that has state of the art accoustics, five-star dining, top-drawer entertainment, and accomodations for the handicap (which btw is federally mandated)...then newer residents won't have to travel so far to visit this heirloom.

This would be a good thing to talk to Mark Morse about when he presents his road show this spring.

Some folks try to bring sunshine into a dark world and others maybe because they are not doing so well themselves try to turn a smile into a frown. When I am sick or having pain, my wife says I am a grump, and maybe that is what helps me keep it at home and not to spread my own troubles to those trying to shed a little happiness. You should see my wife's eyes when someone asks her if I am always so funny and happy at home. Then we just smile at each other when she says sure he is.

Don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen!

And, while I am on the subject, we have always enjoyed K-Belles. It has great ambience, music is good, entertainment is acceptable. The food in the Cattle Baron Restaurant used to be excellent, have not been there for about a year so don't know what it is like now. It is very difficult to get tickets for their special shows, so it cannot be all bad!

Thumbs up Uncle Bobs Rock Shop tonight!

My hub and I have been going to KBs for 8 years and we absolutely love it. Sure some of the food is average, but we have never had a meal that we could not stand, never....Tonights band plays The Beatles, The Who, Pink Floyd, etc.....yes, they are loud and not for everyone, but a great, talented band in my opinion. To each his own!!...... and the Salmon special tonight, with a bit of lobster and fresh veggies over angel hair pasta, is DELICIOUS!! We love the reubin, fish sandwich, burgers, stuffed mahi mahi, prime rib, and many other items.....going to eat well AND rock and roll tonight!!!
