Default New Havana management

I believe I saw that someone new took over Havana Country club. Has anyone gone there for dinner since? I know it hasn't gotten the best of reviews under the old management. Looking for a good place for dinner that we haven't been before ( that probably includes a lot of places!). Thanks

Take a look at other recent posts on this subject. So far it seems that new management is doing a good job. I have read only good things about food and service at Havana recently.

Same person there, but there is another that's been helping.

Duh, it's a restaurant, not a chemistry lab!

I've dined at Havana a few times recently, and the food and service was very good. It's definitely in my "meal rotation" now.

Happy Hour all day is also a great plus.

This is good to hear. We ate at Havana twice last winter and both times were somewhat disappointing. Havana is the closest CC to our rental, so would like to take advantage of it more. All day happy hour - hmmmmmmm.

We also live close to Havana and after reading comments in this thread, we went last night and tried it. YUK. We talked to the manager about my wifes burnt hamburger that was ordered medium rare and my Steak that was raw about half of it and cooked dry on the other end. Not top and bottom, but one end raw like it was hanging off the grill and the other end well done. He offered to start over on us both, but we said we were fine to pick at it and go on home. I don't trust what is done to food for people that complain. Now that is the fourth time in two years that we have had a very bad meal at Havana. Such a shame as the club is located perfect for us.

Default Out of "meal rotation"

We didn't go to Havana last winter precisely because of the posting I read on TOTV. We try to go to as many clubs and other restaurants to help local establishments but TOTV postings can be a powerful decision factor both pro and con. I guess what I am saying is that we need to be fair in reporting and weigh and consider because I'll be making decisions based on your postings. There are too many restaurants, we can't go to all of them. So far based on your postings, we'll probably not go to Havana again this winter.

Cool

We were at Havana on Friday evening with a golf group of 20 persons. There wasn't a single person, in our party, that was dissatisfied with either food or service.

In my opinion, you need to take food/service reviews on TOTV with a very large grain of salt. Everyone has different tastes and expectations. You need to try them yourself and make your own assessment.

I hear the same about Bonifay and the flies. I've been there on several occasions [outside] and have not been bothered by flies...maybe I'm just lucky...

If you complain to a manager and they offer to correct your problem and you don't take advantage, I don't think you have a reason to complain on here.

Just my opinion....

Default Flies at Bonifay

Too funny we were there this morning for the brunch, it was very nice.
But, we sat on the right side of the outside patio, there were a lot of flies.
Two other woman came out and were going to sit down, they mentioned to the hostess, too many flies. They were going inside, she led them to the other side of the outside patio, she said there would be no flies there. Who Knew, flies pick sides!
