Default Havana CC - Excellent!

I dined here last evening and was delighted by the attentive service, the cordiality of the staff and the quality of the food. I have found many of the Country Clubs in TV to be just OK, but this one was well above average. I made it a point to increase my standard tip, to thank the server and ask to see the manager to thank him for the fine experience. The manager (Vinnie) came over with a notebook in hand. He asked my permission to take notes because he does that to make constant improvements. To me, that is a sign of a great manager and one who pays attention to the details which is so important in any business, but particularly in the restaurant industry. I also told him I had eaten at Amerikano's in Spanish Springs and at Johnny Rockets at LSL; both of which are also owned by the same family that owns Havana. I appreciate that they support the community, churches and organizations in TV. I hope others have found these restaurants to be well run. Thanks!

Finally, someone is running Havana who knows what they are doing. Great food, employees, and atmosphere. We have been there several times, and never disappointed.

Our go to place also. When the owner and or manager comes over to say high or introduce themselves that says something. Place is crowded every night and see many of the same faces coming back.

Made a second trip to the Havana-will give the place a thumbs up, its good to see the owner with a hands on attitude-restaurants are his real business, unlike other people who purchase restaurants and run them as an absentee side line--which I got form the piece in the paper about the owner of Mezza Luna and the statement he said about not using frozen stuff was totally false--I bit into a piece of frozen salmon @ Mezza Luna on my last time there

Honestly--brisket/corned beef is just about the cheapest cut from the animal- it tastes good because of the cooking technique--not the quality of the beef

Smallest piece of salmon I've ever had anywhere and it was burnt on the bottom. Didn't tell the manager and not going back.

Talk about small--on our first visit to the "new" Havana--both my wife & I observed the skimpiest slice of prime rib I have ever seen in any restaurant since I was 18 & I'm currently 75==it looked like a slice of ham you would use in a ham & cheese sandwich

Knowing that we would never order prime rib there--will give other entrees a shot --thanks for the heads up on the salmon

My wife and son went to Havana last Tuesday and both ordered salmon. I thought that the piece of salmon was pretty small but they didn't comment on that. I had a hamburger. We probably won't go back as their are other places that we like. Also it was extremely crowded at dinner time and we had about a 30 minute wait.

An inexpensive cut of meat in the hands of a great cook is a wonderful thing.

I never judge my food or much else by how much it costs.

Beef Brisket cooked low and slow with the right seasoning is tender and flavorful. Sauerbraten is cheaper cut of beef made tender with vinegar and spices and marinated for several days and then cooked on low heat slowly as well.

There are many less expensive meat and poultry dishes that are yummy. New England Boiled dinner uses a fresh pork shoulder, not as expensive as ham. Chicken and dumplings often uses the older hen.
