Some people are allergic to dogs. Some people are afraid of dogs. Some people just don't like dogs. IMHO, if your dog can't stay home while you eat dinner, one of you has a problem.

I agree with you mulligan. Restaurants, either inside or out are no place for dogs.

I agree as well. I love my pets, but I'm not going to try to take them to restaurants.

Just because The Villages is "dog friendly", it does not necessarily mean that owners with dogs can do what they want and go where they want with their dogs. Dogs do not belong in restaurants. The Villages provide dog parks, however, owners of dogs think it is ok for their dogs to do their business around the mailboxes as well as the beautiful flower gardens in the villages and on neighbors lawns. Why don't dog owners use the dog parks. Believe me, when I bought, there was nothing in my restrictions saying dogs ruled the Villages

Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation:

Pet dogs are generally prohibited at public food service establishments. However, your local government may enact an ordinance permitting dogs in designated outdoor seating areas of public food service establishments. The ordinance must include specific requirements established by state law, including permit fees and sanitation and safety conditions that must be met.

A restaurant must have a permit from the local government to allow dogs in the designated outdoor seating area(s) before your pet dog is allowed at a restaurant. Contact your local government to find out if an ordinance has been enacted and if the restaurant has the required permit.

Pet dogs are still prohibited inside food service establishments, including traveling through the establishment. The local permit only allows pet dogs in designated outdoor areas.

Can I take my pet dog to a restaurant?

I love dogs more than golf but will not take Mr. Buster to a restaurant inside or outside. Now if they would use the same policy for smoking.

There was a thread about this a week or so ago.

Hate to break it to you, this place is really not dog friendly. People face to face may want to appear dog friendly, but on this board NOT SO MUCH.

Evidently someone complained about the dogs being outside, maybe we should all start doing that, complaining about any and everything we don't like. Personally, I don't like stupid people. I also don't like people who are loud, crude and common. I also don't like people who breed like roaches. I find most peoples grandchildren(except GG's-LOL) to be insipid little twits. Maybe we should just let it all hang out.

How many times do people lament on this board that all we have here are chain restaurants, THIS IS WHY. You have someone invest their money and time in a restaurant only to be reported by some busy-body nobody from nowhere.

You all want more quality restaurants, what for? Generally you people are cheap, chronic complainers who were born without a palate.

How would you define "dog friendly"?

We have 2 dogs and love them more than we do most people. However, we do NOT take them to restaurants.

How does being a quality restaurant and not allowing pets equate? I don't think that any of the "quality" restaurants anywhere would allow pets.

Another exciting day in The Villages. They don't make them like they used to.

People that is. We certainly know what we THINK on here.

Patty, our grandchildren are not insipid and are just as cute as your dogs.
They weren't insipid when they were little, they were saucy and adorable and didn't shed. They walked on crayons and spilled chocolate-y substances and talked in church. But they have had the remarkable good sense to become adults and I plan to live off of them.

I like dogs and I like kids and I like opinionated old people.

Being one myself.

You missed the point, my point was that you have a non-chain restaurant invest his time and money only to be interfered with by some busy body. I would guess that whoever reported this situation doesn't even eat there.

I'm sure if RedSauce wants to continue allowing dogs they can get the proper permits, let's face it, this is Central Florida, not exactly a "think tank".

Frankly, I think most of the people here wouldn't know the difference between a "quality restaurant" and a schlock house.
