$30 ($15 x 2) to replace the current cards makes $20 for the long distance card seem fairly reasonable.
I will probably spend the $20 if the readers get installed.

The gates are worthless here. Everyone in the world comes through here. NO SOLICITATION ?? I live in Sanibel and we have men and women combing the neighborhood all the time . They're knocking on doors trying to sell some service or other. One day we were about to back out of the driveway and some man knocks on the car door window asking if I want him to pull out any dead plants. Makes one feel less than safe.

The gates are for GOLF CART SAFETY, these are not for security. They are installed to slow down traffic so golf carts can safely cross the street. All of the roads in TV (except for the villa roads) are county roads, hench the reason the red buttons.

We’ve been here over 20 years and our gate passes were free and I have never heard of anyone needing to replace a window motor. That is just an old tale spread by garage owners.

This has been discussed ad nauseam, on this site for years and it always comes back to safety.

Agree that the gates are needed to slow traffic down for golf carts. But I live near the new area and there are gates here that are in "construction" mode. Meaning the entrance gates behave just like the exit gates - you pull up to it and it opens. That slows traffic down just fine. Why can't the gates just be left in that mode all the time?

Agree that this has been brought up many times. But perhaps as we age and become more vulnerable, we are seeking safety and these non residents knocking on doors do not leave a sense of safety.

NOT TRUE not all gates have golf cart crossings. I think the main gates need to be gone as no golf cart crossing end of Meggison for example. Often times cars pull out of the street that comes after the gate anyhow and most golf carts simply make a continual right turn from a supposed stop sign at any street with a diamond lane even if cars coming.

Since we use our golf carts for about 99% of our transportation needs in the bubble (excluding when we travel via bicycle), we’ll pass on the sticker. The only time we ever need our gate pass is when we go through the gate in the historic section that provides golf cart access to Lowel’s, Walmart, WaWa, Tropical Smoothie, etc….. When we do need to get through a gate in our golf cart, there’s no need to worry about having to roll down a window since there aren’t any. Gotta love the simplicity of a Yamaha : )
