Yes, we are in Charlotte, just west of Charlotte CT...and reception is awful lately. People always saying "you are breaking up" and calls disconnect frequently. Calls to Verizon have been no help for us. There is another thread on this...I think if you search "verizon" you will find it.

I live in Hadley and have a terrible connection with Verizon. Had it last night and finally called and was pleasantly surprised at their response. There is now a trouble ticket and they will actually make a premise visit if necessary to determine what is going on. Fortunately while I was talking to the tech guy the call was dropped so he knew I wasn't crazy. If I don't hear from them by Monday I am supposed to call back to see what the delay is. Will post if anything good or bad comes of this. But I do urge everyone with a Verizon connection problem to call them and complain.

Default Field Test available for Verizon?

Is there a Field Test for Verizon? I have an iPhone, and AT&T service. When diagnosing my problem back in Oct 2011 in Village of Sanibel, they gave me the following Field Test to run... It gave them all kinds of detail about my connection. I have to believe that Verizon has a similar feature. The AT&T Field Test code is: *3001#12345#* on you keypad. Just wondering????

Yes, if you have verizon please call and complain, but you MUST tell them you want a trouble ticket. If not it won't be counted as a problem. According to verizon they are aware of the problem but as the manager told us the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

We live in Sanibel and have terrible coverage also. I think it is because we don't have a water tower nearby to mount cell phone antenna's on. But I could be wrong....

We use Sprint and have installed an "Airave" which is a mini cell phone tower in our home. It gives us 5 bars and perfect calls. Verizon has a similar device you may want to check out.

Penencamp Area. When we first moved here had AT&T and could not get reception so switched to Verizon and improved calls with a booster in the house. Switched to Virgin last year and now we have trouble on and off with the service. I think they have too many people and not enough towers in the area.

Have had ATT with no problems for years now. Only place we can't get reception is driving through Weirsdale and it's a little sketchy by the Phillips dealership but I have heard ATT is adding more towers in our area.

Heard back from Verizon this morning. They said they are closing the ticket, but will continue to work on the problem. I am too far from the tower - well Duh, I could have told them that. At any rate they are trying to tweak the towers I am working off and I'll give them a week to see if there is any improvement. If not I'll call them back and I hope all those having the same problem will as well and maybe they will do a permanent fix.

Does anyone know how to find out where the various cell towers are located and who they belong to? Most towers cover a fairly large range. I am thinking that there are too many users for Verizon in the Villages.
