I would be interested in consumer reviews or opinions about this lawn care,pest control and landscape company. Service Smart Inc.

If this Is the company with the owl..... I would run. Our neighbor had them, was gone for 3 months, and they were putting slips on their door that things were being done...NOT. Weeds were about 6 inches or more high....lawn looked horrible. We called the neighbor, took pictures and sent to them. I wouldn't recommend them after what we saw.

We just got Stellar and are happy so far.

One thing they do is promise you the world and don't deliver. The salesman told me that they would use a hand mower on our lawn. When the guys came to cut we were informed the co. doesn't even own hand mowers.
I think they contract out and you end up with the luck of the draw.

Stellar will hand-mow, at least the smaller lawns. I think they contract out now too, but still hand-mow.

Search for Once A Year Lawn and Pest Control - abysmal record. The same individual, Mr. Kenny Smith, owns Service Smart and the business address in Ocala is the same as Once A Year. Don't walk away - RUN!

The services provided by them is not good. Some of our neighbors had them and are now maintaining there own lawns with 100% improvement.

I agree - RUN. I asked for a refund. They lied about what they would do. The owner Knows they lie, does lousy service. Do NOT recommend this company.

My parents, along with my wife and I, bought new homes here the first of year and both of us signed contracts and paid for a year of lawn care and pest control service with Service Smart. None of us live here full time yet. We all arrived back the first of July to our yards looking awful, not only was the grass high but weeds were growing in the beds and pieces of palm trees in my parents yard were everywhere! We both had to call Service Smart to get them to come out. When they came out to do my yard, the mower left two very long strands of high grass in-between my yard and the golf course. Talk about cutting corners and no pride in ones work! I had to call them to get them to come back out to cut this. When they finished mowing I asked one of them about the weeds in my bed, he told me I would have to call in to their office to get another crew out to do this. So who calls when I'm not around for months and cannot monitor my yard??

My parents have been gone out of state for three weeks now while we are still in our house. I keep going by watching and waiting to see when Service Smart will mow their grass which is high again from 4 weeks of not being mowed. Same with my house, I watch my neighbors yard being cut weekly by an efficient and effective crew, whether it needs it or not. I am at the point now of not wanting to call in to just wait to see how long it takes them to mow our yards. Apparently they think we are both gone from our homes and they can just skip our yards on a weekly basis. Then I start to think of the good money we have each spent with this company (well over $1,000 each, for the packages we purchased) and it burns me up to realize how bad they are taking advantage of us by ignoring our yards completely! Really when a company doesn't honor their contract with a customer, they might as well be stealing that customer's money!

If your thinking of new yard service in TV for your home, please don't make the mistake we made by falling for this companies enticing ads and pricing in the newspaper. I can tell you now from experience that what the previous posters wrote on here is 100% correct. My parents and I are stuck with poor service from Service Smart until the first of next year. Then, you can be assured, we will be looking for a new company that cares about their work ethics and their customers.

I'm still waiting to see if my yard or my parent's yard ever gets mowed by Service Smart. We are heading towards 5 weeks now with both of our yards NOT being mowed, weeded or trimmed. I was in the pool an hour ago and watched as the Service Smart truck came right down my short one way street, went around the cul-de-sac (where our house is) and just kept on going without stopping or even slowing down! Could Service Smart be the worst lawn care company in The Villages? I'm thinking so. We have really been cheated by this company. Has anyone ever had any luck in canceling their service contract and recouping money paid with any lawn care company in TV?

Have you thought about going to Seniors vs Crime about your problem? If they have taken your money and not given you service, they are robbing you.

Thanks for the good advise but my wife and I are not quite the age to qualify as seniors, hence my screen name which means the 20% allowed in TV under the age of 55. My parents are seniors but they, like us, are using their house part time for now and they are presently out of state. I agree that Service Smart is robbing us. I am going to call the company now and try to personally speak with the owner. I also feel it is important to keep this thread going so no one else out there gets taken advantage of by this company as we have and continue to be.

Oh, whoops! Now I get it. Good luck with the company. It may end up being a bad experience you can at least help others avoid, like you said.

I cancelled my service with Service Smart on 06/19/14 and am still fighting with them about my refund.
