I got a watch from my parents and a "here's hoping you don't flunk out of college" from my sister. Ha Ha

A wedding! I was married 2 weeks after graduation.

I asked my parents for a sewing machine for my graduation. They thought I was nuts, but I still use it even 30 years later.

I also got married just after graduation--still with him. Sometimes good--sometimes bad.
I graduated from a school that I only attened for 2 months. My Dad was military and we moved just before graduation. I had to study really hard and take finals on subjects that were really different from what I had been taking at my other school. BTW I did pretty good.

I got a seiko watch , and a trunk full of clothes to take to college. I went to a pool party the day after graduation and forgot I was wearing my new watch. It stopped after it had been swimming for the whole evening. My date took the watch to his parents friends who were jewelers and they was able to fix it. My parents never knew my watch went swimming. Whew!!!!

I can't remember which gift I received for graduation...the typewriter, the sewing machine, or the Bulova watch. But I want to talk about the watch.

For over 40 years it sat in my jewelry box. Every now and then I'd take it out and look at it because it was my all time favorite and most beloved watch of all time. The stem had broken off and I had taken it to various jewelers over the years. Each time I was told the same...it's not repairable.

This past winter I located the one and only authorized Bulova repair center located in NYC. Low and behold, they repaired it for about $150 only for me to receive it finding it not running. I was sooooo disappointed and ready to return it again to NYC when I remembered it was a wind up watch. Once I wound it, it worked and I'm now wearing the watch I wore over 40 years ago.

Thats a hearwarming story Bright. I lost my Seiko shortly after graduation and have never worn a watch since, Surprisingly, I have never missed having one. And surprisingly, Im always on time!!

Chels, I cant deny I am directionaly challenged as well as computer challenged . I have to agree with you. But hey, you never would have found " Nonie'sWay" if I didnt get lost so often. LOL LOL
