I'm voting Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.

I'm voting Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.

I'm voting Democrat because I believe three or four pointy headed elitist liberals need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would NEVER get their agendas past the voters.

I hope not, Benj. You know, those who liked John Edwards took him for his word. They were duped by him. As I watched Obama and Clinton have at each other, he stood quietly by..appearing for all the world like the voice of reason. I came to admire him. That he would have an affair while running for POTUS and having his sick wife campaign for him during that time is just nasty. His disregard for his country is a disgrace.

I dont mean to be a wise guy, because I support a lot of what you say if you mean ALL incumbents but this thread is about a PARTY...not individuals !

I am curious actually and to be fair..my take is that voting a straight ticket in any election is lazy and cannot be based on any research or knowledge of any kind. There is no way that all Republicans or Democrats are the good guys or the bad guys. I will vote from top to bottom for whomever I think is the best candidate...one reason to get a ballot well in advance to know who they are and a bit about their background.

I voted straight party one time in my life...1960 which was my first presidential campaign and I voted straight Democratic....many of my friends from when I was active in the Democratic party years ago would be shocked to know that I voted for many Republicans also

I believe, and this is just my opinion, is that the PARTY FIRST/COUNTRY second attitude is the reason for the political climate in this country.

I think the political acrimony began well before Iraq. It had festered during the Clinton years and came of age during the last two presidential elections with what happened in Florida and Ohio.

It, in my opinion, is not the fault of one party or the other...they are both to blame. They continue to put party before country and we continue to send them back to Washington.
