SALLYJO...had to say it but IMHO had Gov Palin or Sen McCain done this,there would be many many more posts on here and the usual cracks about whatever.

Yes it was an unfortunate mistake and as I said I really felt for Sen Biden.

It's clear that Joe Biden made a mistake and took complete control of the situation in a very elegant way. I applaud him.

I do believe Biden handled the gaffe beautifully. I also believe that his staff did a very poor job of prepping him if they had the name of the state senator but didn't mention any physical issues.

As to what would have been said had the gaffe been Palin's, we don't know. She may have been given credit for handling the error with style and grace (and I do believe she would have been able to do that). She may have been blasted out of the water.

Whatever the case, Biden made a mistake, he recovered and turned the mistake into a class act.

I am sure Senator Biden was as embarrased as can a person can be. He handled it in a very polished and professional manner. He made a mistake. He is human. I am a republican, he is a democrat. We are both human.

Cassie...dont want to discuss this any longer, but to my knowledge there are no posts here about Sen Obama personally or his family.....no posts EXCEPT for those defending Gov Palin about Sen Biden personally or his family.

There ARE MANY posts here about Sen McCain and Gov Palin PERSONALLY and their families even...that is what Sallyjo made the comment about. !!!!!

I am cringing with embarassment for Sen Biden. He certainly tried hard to smooth over his error and I applaud him for that. I bet all of us have said or done something we instantly regret.

Politicians, like all of us, are imperfect human beings. Let's give them all, Dem and Republican, some slack!
