Default I will miss Bamdi

This picture was taken last evening in Ohio of a two day old fawn. We will miss these moments when we permanently move to the Villages.

While I miss being down in the Villages, I didn’t miss today’s pictures of them growing up.

Don't worry...down here it will be Gators to observe. I have asked several people in TV if there are deer's in the area. We drove from Lady Lake to Hollywood and back and didn't see a live deer or any dead animal's on the side of the road. I couldn't stop looking for the eyes in the woods ready to mess up your day.

FL deer are very few and far between. I've lived in FL for a total of 12 years, in 3 different locations, and have yet to see one. Bear, on the other hand, are a fairly common sight. Several have been seen in and around TV.

Bigfoot is frequently seen around the 3 squares. Apparently the sightings are somewhat dependent on your ETOH level.

I saw a deer on St. Augustine Beach a few years ago. It was running down the preserve between the beach and the homes.

Lovely pictures of fawns. Thanks for posting. We see many deer at our cabin in Canada; also moose and bears.

You probably won't see any deer in Florida. Although if you go to the Keys you might see some tiny Key deer. You will see plenty of baby calves, sometimes colts, and once in awhile a kid or a baby lamb (whatever they're called).

I like the Sandhill Crane and their kids. They are married for life and BIG birds...about four foot tall and are slow and majestic walkers, not easily frightened by people. Sometimes you have to wait to putt when they are on the green.

I have traded the deer for the red headed big birds. I am happy.

When we first moved here, I was enamored with Sandhill Cranes. The novelty quickly wore off when my lawn, as well as neighbors, were significantly damaged by them. At least I didn't suffer screen damage they inflicted, like a close neighbor.
