Thumbs up Great golf lesson experience at Golf Your Best!

After a number of frustrating and, frankly, humiliating experiences on the course, I knew I needed assistance from a professional. A friend of mine recommended Sandra Chester, the LPGA Pro at Golf Your Best on Hwy 301. (352-751-5122) I called, spoke to Kim Weekly, the office manager, and made an appointment. What a smart move I made! After an EXTENSIVE evaluation session with Sandra, I already began to feel better. She not only analyzed my swing, but she also understood my learning style (as well as my reluctance to let anyone see just how badly I was doing). I began to feel much more at ease and a lot less embarrassed. I left with drills and exercises designed to help me improve. I also signed up for a 6-lesson package, and I am eager for my next lesson!

My wife took the evaluation Frankly I was a skeptic .
Why were we spending this money. We talked it over and decided an hour would be to much info to process better off working on the weakest parts of her game one at a time
She opted for the 6 45 min lessons.
My observation each week spouses and partners can sit in and observer.
If you listen carefully you can pick up many valuable tips at no extra charge.
Sandra stuided and tailored each lesson to fit my wife's ability each week giving home work.
At the end of 6 weeks I have nothing but hats off to Sandra and Kim
They built my wife's confidence plus her game has improved dramatically .Can't wait to have her return in the fall
Cost Priceless

After paying for golf lessons from "professionals", I'm again looking for someone who KNOWS how to teach golf. The first "pro" I had practically ruined me from every playing again, the 2nd one was teaching the same style even though he was highly recommended (& teaches at a Villages CC), I have heard great reviews before on Sandra. It's so true... a great instructor is PRICELESS!! I'm tired of wasting money on wanna be instructors.

OK, how about trying this:

1) Learn a proper grip.

2) Go practice short shots to learn how to put the club on the ball. Bonifay has a great area for this.

3) After you are comfortable hitting these 20-30 yard shots, try hitting longer shots at Sarasota.

You sound like you are serious about learning golf the right way. I would like to suggest you go online to Rotary Swing Golf. They have a school in Orlando. But I hear the prices are steep. The founder charges something like $500 per hour lesson, and his top assistant charges something like $250 per hour. But, you can sign up on their online school for about $20 per month, I think. If you start at the very beginning of the online lessons and do what they say regarding drills etc., I think you will be pleased. Before you pay anything, you can sign up for free videos (teasers) that provide a lot of valuable tips (free). You can also find out exactly what they are going to teach you before you pay anything. I think they also include 3 or so video analyses of your swing with a package. It takes a little effort to find some excellent teaching videos on youtube, but I have found dozens of really good and valuable lessons. Also, Central Florida has a couple of GolfTech centers that can analyze your swing and show you what you are doing. There is nothing better than seeing with your own eyes, what your swing looks like, and having someone knowledgeable analyze it while you are looking at it. Good luck. And if you do any of this, let us know how it turned out.

Of course it matters. What may be reasonable and affordable to some people may not be in the reach of others. Would you be willing to pay Butch Harmon $1,000 per hour or Hank Haney $15,000 per day? (Those are their actual rates by the way)

I'm sure that millions of people would love to get lessons from teachers like that, but we can't afford them.

I am always skeptical of people who won't tell you the price of something they are selling. Or people who have to give you a long spiel trying to justify the price that you finally hear at the end only to realize that you can't afford it.

Why won't the people who are taking lessons from Sandra post her rates.

Yep.

Maybe in a perfect world, price wouldn't matter. But in this world, it does.

Fees for lessons are not a big secret. Just go to "golfyourbest.com" website for full listing of rates, descriptions, and qualifications of instructors. There are two, Sandra and Ryan with rates for Ryan being slightly cheaper.
I am not a skilled enough typist to recreate the schedule here. Nor can I cut and paste adequately.
In general, initial evaluation with Sandra is 1 hr @ $125. With individual lessons 1/2 hr $65, and 45 min $95. Group lessons are also available.
They are well worth it.

I had the 1 hour "student evaluation" and during that hour I hit less than 12 balls. Areas such as balance, joint flexibility, posture, coordination, muscle strength of areas related to golf play were all tested and evaluated. Grip, stance, swing dynamics etc were videotaped, critiqued, and evaluated. Following the verbal evaluation, a complete written evaluation was e-mailed to me with problems noted in all these areas, exercises aimed at improving overall body and swing balance, etc, drills to be done before next lesson (if any were scheduled) and how defects noted in the evaluation would be addressed in any future lessons.
Very impressed. Overall status was evaluated, not just your particular golf swing.

Very good. Thank you.
I just didn't understand why some people were reluctant to publish her rates or claim that the price doesn't matter.

I have been taking lessons from Sandra since the first of the year and I am very happy with the progress that I have made with her. I have taken lessons from other pros--all of whom were very experienced and skilled instructors--but Sandra is the first one that fit my particular needed method of instruction. I feel that anyone will gain the maximum amount they are capable of sign up with Sandra.
As to her fees, as pointed out by others they are posted on The Golf Your Best website and clearly spelled out in her brochures. They are certainly not being kept "secret".
